Sorry to hear you had no luck with alternate venues, but unless that date was partiularly special to you (?)
LOL - can you believe we chose the 5th Sept because our house was flooded on the 5th Sept last year (I figured nothing could possible go wrong this year!) I think I should buy a lottery ticket....
No idea when the venue will be ready, keeping everything crossed!

Just a thought is there a village hall nearby that has a kitchen for your current chef to cook in. Our hall often has free dates (sadly not anywhere near Hexham) and is not expensive to hire. A lot of halls are a licensed premisis and will either do a bar for you or let someone such as your original chap come in and run it for a small fee as long as they show their license to the halls DPS. Then you could keep the original date, registrar, clothes etc.0

With the way the weather is at the mo Hels, you've prob got more chance of Sunshine in Oct.
Good luck and just think how fab your venue will be, all brand new and you will prob be the 1st couple to have their celebrations there.

Hey all,
Just to update you further - the wedding venue is going to take longer refurbishmentwise than anticipated. Because most things are summery (my dress, BM dress, Mums dress, sis dress etc etc) we decided to postpone until next spring rather than risk having a 'colder' wedding in November/December. However, I'm beginning to think there is a conspiricy against me as the register office is now closing down in March!!!!:eek::eek:
Can you believe that?
On a brighter note, the new register office is going to be in a fabulous old building - looks very grand and is much much nicer than the old RO! They still cant give me a date yet when it will be ready, but am hoping for May 1st (bank holiday). I hope all the hotels and B&B's will carry my guests deposits over though - will speak to them this week.
Still feel sad - I should've been married in 3 weeks time, but I'm trying to think positively about it all! What a rollercoaster ride this has been.

How wonderful that you're taking this so positively
It'll be something to tell people in the future that's for sure lol.
Good luck with everything, I hope it's plain sailing from here on for you0 -
Aw, still, the wait will make it even more special when it eventually happens.
Btw...you need to change your signature...;)
