Apparantly Leeds Armouries is really good. If you were to come here, I've got loads of books from A levels and stuff that I could lend you, books about Germany in WW2 etc. I don't think they're too hard for GCSE level.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Thanks a lot Buffy - useful. What do you teach?
We're doing IGCSE (no coursework - easier for Home Ed) I've done a web trawl and got tons of stuff that I now need to sort / chuck etc and do the actual planning. French Revolution / Rise & Fall of Weimar Germany / Rise of Fascism / History of Warfare in the 20th Century. The last 3 overlap a bit - it's the warfare bit that's bugging me at the minute. It just seems overwhelming today but it's got to be done. Sounds a bit pathetic when you write it down .

Has anybody been to Leeds Armouries - am wondering if that would be worth a trip?!?

What board are they doing? I mean they have all changed for September but if they are still doing the old course I could probably help

    xx

Last time I said I was bored I lost my job, so I won't be saying that one!

Happy Birthday Lou! Missed that one...

Happy Birthday little Bea - from her friend Dora and Aunty Sammy

GOOD LUCK - to Snags and Bunny who are doing RFL today!!!!!!

Off to see DD1 in a bit, my washing machine has broke so I need to take the sofa covers over to spin them off......(that was on my bloomin list!) So useful having a DD that doesn't live at home...:rotfl:

OH wants to go to A&E to see if the pain/burning in the chest is the result of iminent heart attack (or just the usual heartburn) and the pain in his arm is as a result of doing one too many press ups (ie just one press up) or if he is indeed going to have a heart attack. I can't face another afternoon in A&E for another 'stress related illness' cos that is what it is....

Pardon me to anyone here who is lurking and may be upset by the above comment but he is like the boy who cried wolf........

  • Thank you Ames - that's a really nice offer, I appreciate it. I think my problem is too many resources that I have to sort through (can't see the wood for the trees IYSWIM). Leeds Armouries sounds like it would be a good start for that bit tho - think I'll ring them and ask if they have anything relevant.

  • Buffy - Edexcel IGCSE old course (last year this year I think) - I tried ringing the board for advice but they weren't very helpful (not a recognised centre bla bla). john d clare website is great for weimar stuff. Ideally, I'd just like to see a gcse example of planning that I could amend - even if it was a different topic (hope that makes sense). I'm not totally new to planning for GCSE (they've done a few already) but they really need to get going on this or time will evaporate...

  • You lot don't know what you have started with the Biggest Loser, only just watching the Final of the last one and the new one starts on Monday!

I did work out that that in 15 weeks even the one that lost the least lost 60 pounds. Incrediable.

Sammy can he not go on his own? I do feel sorry for him but the temptation to tell him to get a grip must be massive.

Oh sammy you poor thing, and I know it isn't at all funny but:rotfl:(sorry but your exasperated descriptions make me giggle... loudly)

Have you thought about stamping on his feet so hard he forgets about the heart attack for an hour or two? It would also have the added benefit of him not being able to follow you around to moan at you :D

  • Hi Sammy,
Agree with Buffy about OH going on his own. Does he always go to GP / Hospital with his symptoms or does he just tell you about them?
