    Bookie stomps off in disgust.

Sorry Bookie, I was being a trifle absorbed for a while there.....

How about that for a record.....been, had chest shaved, had ECG, blood sugar, blood pressure, temperature......poked prodded.......nothing wrong.... and thats OH not me....:rotfl:

To be honest Ames...I am seriously past caring. I have too much work to do now after being to the hospital three times this week to hang about and see a duty psych doctor...OH will only say his problems are genuine.....although he is looking a bit shame faced now.....

Don't worry I shall milk it for the rest of the day....

And the psych will nod gravely and say "Tell me about your childhood."

And given that he has both parents, alive and married to each other after 50 years......wanted for nothing as a child........therein lies the problem.....:rotfl:

No he wont. I took an overdose and all he said was 'will you see your GP on monday' 'yes of course I will' (while working out a route to get the maximum number of pills for another attempt) 'Good, you're making plans for the future, you can be discharged'. Luckily when I got home there was a letter saying my benefits had finally been sorted out, so I could afford to live, so there was no need to carry out the plan.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.
  • Sammy - I hope it was it a worthwhile visit for him (seriously) - does he believe the sky's not falling on his head now?
Bunny - well done on the race!
Ames - hope you're feeling better - are you from Scarborough?
SRM - you've still got £5 for choc, tho
ZTD - thanks for the review - it doesn't sound like what we want - we're looking at changes in air/sea/land warfare with a bit of chemical thrown in for good measure (sorry, not my specialist subject)

Lenza, I was born in Dewsbury and grew up in Scarborough. I'm still not feeling good, so I've had to put off the trip over there till later in the week. A night curled up watching Top Gear and House is ahead of me instead!

Lenza, I agree he was ticking boxes. Friday night is a really bad time to go to A&E!

Lenza......it was worthwhile to him....he now knows there is nothing wrong with him apart from heartburn and to lose weight....He says he has had a fright and will do something about it. We shall see.

I have to say - the health service in my town is second to none. No matter what his 'health problems' have been they have always taken him seriously. I am the !!!!! sitting in a corner reading the news of the screws whilst he is hooked up to the ECG... They know his problem but actually can't afford to ignore the symptoms of a heart attack. They do it with good grace and for that I am eternally grateful.

When I had severe post natal depression which led to a cry for help suicide attempt I was refered firstly to the hospital psychiatrist and then to Professor Brockingtons mother and baby unit. They arranged for weekly visits until I felt better. Then when I was pregnant with Chloe they sent another (rather mad) woman round to assess me again....
