Why do you want an iphone?
    theres better phone out there.
are you of these, ive got an iphone im so cool, types of people.
buying an iphone isnt a status symbol, it just shows you like chucking money down the drain. Buy a decent phone, why pay more for less

    Maybe they like the iphone?

Every phone has it's flaws, depends on what the user is wanting from a handset!

Your post was a little narrow minded!

I want an Iphone because I have a macbook and I want it to sync with ical address book etc. From the small time I've spent messing aroung with it in a shop I like using it.

That said I'm open to suggestions of alternatives with details of the contract tariffs and network.

I refuse to go on 3 or t-mobile though.

It wasnt a dig at the op. I just cant see the appeal. Every man and his dog has one.
apple market it as if having one is going to dramatically change your life.
but like you say its personal choice.

    Hi,

I can upgrade my contract (I'm currently with 02) in three weeks time.

I thinking of a 3GS on a £35 contract. My one big issue is the lack of text messages 500 is such a piddly amount.

Has anyone managed to blag more than 500 from them?

I currently pay £35 for 600mins, 1000 texts and unlimited internet. The Iphone contract is almost identical except for texts and wifi (which I couldn't care less about). I would resent paying the same money for less texts.

    Cheers

    Barry

As previously stated the simplicity is probably the best bet for you.

As if you take out the £20 a month sim (Details below are online only)

you get 600mins , 1200 text and one of these bolt ones (unlimited text, unlimited 02 calls, unlimited web etc....) http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity

But if you sign up for a 12 month you get 800mins and 1600 text plus a bolt one http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity (plus get £35 back via quidco)
