comparison sites are only usefull as a guideline, they are not accurate, or do you claim otherwise ???.
just tried AGAIN, used a mixture of DD and cash, saving £145 then used the generated consumption figures to do another comparison, being with same supplier, this time by switching save £63. The secondary saving results are misleading, the first results a good guidline for the benefits of saving. Now don't be so lazy, try it yourself.
No-one disputes they are to be used as a guideline. The lie denied is the false idea that inputting the same data would yield different results. The noodle-brained chickenhead behaviour outlined in your third paragraph is clearly not inputting the same data.
You do not get different results on the same site with the same data.
The targetting of a national average consumption figure by the suppliers' tariffs is a far larger and more significant source of unreliability (when it is coupled with large annual and seasonal differences in actual usage.)0 -
Your tone, as all too often, is based on insults and ridicule, is that the summation of your character, when you disagree with something, you resort to insults. I am so glad this is only the internet and I do not have to put up with you in real life.
I submit the details for your obviously superior scrutiny, now will you give a commitment to stop insulting people in your posts. I have read many where you do this to numerous people, actually a disgrace to a public forum in that you've got away with it so far. You do it far too often with no justification.
gas 200pa cash pay on receipt of bill with BG
el £14pm DD no standing charge with SPower
results show
consumption = 3033kwh gas & 1053kwh el
recommendations
Dual Fuel NPower online v15 save £145.34
Now using the generated consumption figures,
3033kwh gas & 1053 el supplier Dual Fuel NPower online v15
results show
gas only Ebico save £31.66
el only nPower no standing charge save £10.10
Now stop insulting people.0 -
Here's another example of immature playground behaviour - "You started it!" You play on my name when you refer to me as "Jelly". I suspect that that is not not meant as an insult. I subsequently played with your name but you are unhappy when it is thrown back at you.0
-
You called me a liar, that is the insult, I don't care about the chicken joke.
I submitted proof you were in fact incorrect in making your assumptions, now where is your apology ?0 -
I suggest you look at your example again.
Re-feeding info gives:
Two Dual fuel nPower V15 tariffs - Saving of £0.00
Gas only Ebico - costs £31.34 MORE
Elec only nPower - save £10.10
So the single fuel solution costs £21.24 more. The original recommendation remains. Originally, single fuel solution saved £124.12 compared to £145.34 - a difference of (ta da) £21.22
Unless you are going to scream triumphantly that tuppence worth of rounding errors when looking at several figures containing annual quotes is vindication then you are incorrect.
Where's your apology?0 -

That doesn't really prove anything.
You started (against our repeated advice on MSE) by inputting your usage by the monthly DD payment (and annual cost in £ for gas). You really need to start with with annual consumption in kWh. (You can get this from your supplier if you haven't kept your bills stating it.)
Then you quote savings against differing companies. But what is the actual annual cost for those 2 suppliers using the consumption levels you assume?
Please post the electricity supply area and the comparison site(s) used to get your results and then we'll all be able to see"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Actually, Premier, Kippen's strategy there is sound - as long as he reuses the derived kWhs for his second iteration then there should be no difference. (And there is no difference.)0

That generates an estimated usage - which would possibly mislead someone into believing what their future bills should be, but like any computer, its gigo.
If you start a comparison with accurate consumption figures in kwh, you can expect the computer to calculate accurately the expected bills from each available supplier"Now to trolling as a concept. .... [STRIKE]Half[/STRIKE]Quarter of an apology: I only mentioned 'lies' as it was originally triggered by a (now deleted) post from a Utility Warehouse spammer who seeked profit from a referral link whilst decrying comparison sites making money. If I had come to discussing the subject directly with you I would have suggested* that you were only incorrect or mistaken.
* Okay, I admit, I would have stated that you were wrong.0 -
Read what I said, it's in bold in case you missed it.kippen_noedel wrote: »Having used the above technique previously, it's why I only use comparison sites for a guide. The poster is correct, often if you change the supplier to the one recommended, you can find yet another cheaper deal.
Do you really think more than a small % of people actually input the correct data in kwh to get a comparison. You can see that here in the forum by the number of people that have to pointed in the right direction.
The point I am making is correct, you will often get a different result by submitting the same data, that shouldn't be the case but it is.
Now stop being so lazy, do the same thing yourselves.0
