    Hi

Just thought i'd pop in. I seem to be growing in strength with this quitting drinking. rather than just getting in from work and popping a cork or pulling a ring pull i'm actually doing stuff. Admittedly its time spent sorting out my debts but I feel positivefor the first time in ages.

Spreadsheets all updated, targets made I even spent the last hour valuing my cds on ebay compared to music magpie!

I dont feel like a drink, I dont crave a drink so i'm wondering whether i'm in some sort of honeymoon period? When the giddyness fades will that be the danger time?

Weird how your mind set changes in these situations.

Well, for now, i'm enjoying this sobriety and as far as i'm concerned i'm staying this way!

    Onwards and upwards

    E

    ps

Good luck to all tonight whatever your targets or ambitions are.

    Hello peeps!

AF Day 3 for me today - sleeping much better and have to say it's great not having any sort dehydration in the morning - something I do notice even if I have (only) a couple of glasses the night before.

Got reminded today by a couple of mates that we arranged (a fortnight ago) to go for a curry at the local weatherspoons tomorrow after work - will be interesting!! Haven't decided whether to have a couple of beers or not, though if I do, I'll switch it with one of my days off this week for one on the weekend

Off to do a few more chores, but have bought a job lot of walnut whips from M & S so today hopefully enough to go around later on! :j

(at this point tried to insert a pic of a walnut whip - but they won't let me as a newbie)

    Evening all,

Still no alcohol in the house:T:TBUT I was sorely tempted to buy some. Was driving home from work and the wine bells started tinkling. I had to stop off at the supermarket to get something for dinner and when I clocked the wine bottles the bells were like a cathedral on a Sunday morning:rotfl::rotfl: . I managed to resist and bought Fizzy water & some chocolate;).

I think I am now over the craving .... a cup of tea and a twix bar did the trick . Funnily enough I am not usually a big chocolate eater but it seems to work as a treat substitute for wine:confused::confused:.

Anyway Miss P , I am still on 9 units and 2 AFDs

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Hi Guys,

Sorry just another quick post as I don't feel well, I am still not sleeping and I now have a water infection so I am on some antibiotics from today. I did have a drink last night but I shall of course not be able to have any alcohol now due to the tablets. I have coal sacks under my eyes, not an image that I really want to portray.

So Miss P and Dear Piglet 4af days for me please when you do the scores, hope you are both ok? Big hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Oh and our Darling Jo good luck for tomorrow, please do keep you appointment as I shall be worrying all day until I know how you have gone on? Big hugs and be brave, tell them the whole truth and get the help you need. Go forward from now Angel, do it for yourself and for your family :A Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bhb hope the funeral arrangements are going ok, thinking of you mate. Hugs to you and your family. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Fay hope all is ok with you and everything has gone ok? Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

40sm hugs hunny and I hope you are ok? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

So everyone else I shall try and catch up with how you have all been getting on? I am sadly just so tired.

I hope everyone is ok? Hugs to all that need them and hello and good luck to all of our new people.

I shall hopefully be able to catch up soon.

Take care and lots a love
    God Bless
    Budgie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Cherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home :)

you're doing brilliantly. Just be grateful for the no cravings, it makes life a lot easier:T, but stay vigilant. Much to my amazement after drinking pretty much every day (except for pregnancies) for decades I didn't get many either, at least not so far. No idea why, because when I stopped smoking I had cravings all the time and it was a real struggle for me. I bought some kudzu just in case but it's still sitting there unopened.
