  • Evening all

Another one here thats been rather busy! Actually, got rather obsessed with the Old Style Forum and spent today sorting through my cupboards and making inventorys of cupboards, fridge and freezer. Have great plans of making all my own food, batch cooking etc....and then tonight I've come home and lobbed a couple of spuds in the oven and some beans on the hob!:rotfl::o

Last few days bells have been amazingly quiet. Will be another AF night here.

IM - Good luck on the 100 AF day mission. You CAN do it. I would love to join you but I'm trying to take some pressure off myself. I'll probably be bowing out of the October challenge just to give myself a months break. But keep us informed of how you're getting on...and we are all here to help if you are struggling!!

YM - Those feet were grotesque (weren't yours were they ??;)). Where do you find these things.....

Love & hugs to all :)

  • Hi GreyPilgrim,:T:T

That would be great, only on day 2 AF so far, day one of my challenge proper, and I am so tired tonight. Not stuggling yet though, managed to go shopping and walk past the wine, so far. How about you how are you managing.

Yes hon, had a nice one. Just a short 23 miler tonight as I left a bit late and the nights are cutting in a bit now.

There's a very steep hill about 8 miles away and it's a bit of a psychological 'blip' for me. I tried it when I first got the bike and it absolutely destroyed me. I had to stop twice on the way up because it exhausted me completely. People were actually walking up it faster than I could cycle. I was a bit humiliated and pushed the bike most of the way.

I tried it again after a few weeks practice and it still destroyed me. Had to stop twice (again), but didn't walk with the bike...just rested, cycled, rested, cycled.

Tried it a third time weeks later, and gave up after a couple of yards because I knew I just couldn't do it.

Fourth time...I actually made it all the way to the top in one go. Purple faced by the time I got there and I really thought I was going to puke and then pass out.

Tried it again tonight and found it bloody hard work, but actually manageable.

Its still a bit of a monster in my head and I'm a bit scared of trying it in case I can't manage it again. Funny how a piece of road can become such a big thing inside your head, isn't it?

Anyhoo, enough rubbish. I'm off to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone.

Feels like once you start and make a commitment, that's the hardest part out of the way to be honest. I'm feeling great!

Got the first weekend out of the way, which I thought would be hard because I'm usually on autopilot on a friday, and would drift to the supermarket to buy some bottles or cans...

    1 day at a time I guess!
