Evening everyone!
Hope everyone has had a lovely AF Group Hug Monday! After posting this I will be sloping off bathwards with a nice cup of coffee and a book.
Just wanted to send (hugs) to Budgie. Please look after yourself you lovely lady. Certainly sounds like a touch of depression. Why not have a few days off and do things just for you. You spend so much time worrying about other people, about time you worried about yourself.
T2GU - group day was a lovely idea. We shall have one in August too!
Hugs to Jo, Fay and anyone else that needs them!
Miss P

Going to London for the day with the 3 DDs on Wednesday (the last day of my Railcard, so making the most of it). Anybody know of any good exhibitions or anything which 3 trendy teenagers would like to see (ages 17, 15 and 13)?? They love going to Camden, but don't know if the market will be there on a Wednesday???
PIR xx
Hi PIR,
Have you been on the London Eye? It's worth doing once. The fashion section of the V&A is quite interesting. The shopping areas round Carnaby St and Seven Dials/Longacre/Covent Garden are quite buzzy. Mind you I'm pushing 40 so this may be way off the mark!

Super duper lovely Af hugs coming your way from Scotland. :grouphug:
Budgie~yes, you do seem a little low. I hope you can dig yourself out into a more uplifting mood. I find my myself down in the dumps more often than not. I find a good book helps. Do you read? Ever read "The Joy of the Snow?" Marvelous book!
I just fell out with my mum. I knew it would happen because she's been here since Saturday morning. She looked after the boys today and had 'a face on' when I got home. Apparently the eldest played up a bit and she was tired. HONESTLY, this is the first (and the last) favour I have called in this year! I don't like asking her and would rather my MIL did it, but she was on holiday.
So anyway, I said to my mum, "kids are in bed, can you put a smile on you face now"She went off on a bit of a rant and I said a few things back. Nothing nasty but saying how it is.
I was probably a little infair. But I think my resentment towards her, even though we generally get on very well in small doses, goes back to my childhood. I find it difficult to have respect for her. I remember how she used to put her coat on and pretend she was leaving forever because of my dads drinking. My brother and I were only little. As young as 6 & 8. We didn't think she was kidding on and used to take our pyjamas off and put our clothes on and run after her. How traumatic for two young kids!!! And now I have two young children of my own, I would never, ever, ever dream of doing that! I honestly think my hostility towards her sometimes goes back to those days.
We all have our troubles eh? Drinking doesn't help, that's for sure. I'm AF today, no wine in the house or I would surely have devoured it the way I am feeling. I'm off to bed to read my book. I love reading. It's the latest Jodi Picoult one. 'A change of Heart' I think it's called. I found 'The Sisters Keeper' a bit too sad.
Best go! Still have to wrap my first EVER Ebay sale. I'm pretty chuffed with the price I got for something that would have probably ended up in the skip!
Much love XNeed to start again0 -

Thanks, GG. Yes, we've been on the London Eye, but I'm hoping to take them to the V&A, to see the Royal College of Art fashion graduates' final collections and your post reinforced this idea - I'd forgotten about the fashion section, which I think they will really love. Then probably go to Knightsbridge and if we have time, have a look at Carnaby Street and Seven Dials/Longacre/CG. So thanks again! :T Hoping to finish off at the British Museum and have a look at the Rosetta Stone and perhaps the Mummies.
Miss Piggy: Regarding target for August. Hmmm. Going on hols so I think we'll have a much, much lower target of 11 days, please.

Hi PiR some of the shops and stalls in the market will be open on a Wednesday. It will be busier if it's sunny and there will be some kids around, not first thing though. You could grab a cuppa in the new rebuilt bit by the canal, just round the corner from the Hawley Arms they've taken these scooters and cut them in half and made a place for tourists to sit and have a drink. Looks cheesy but I'd do it if I were a visitor.
I went http://www.soane.org/ here recently as it was free and enjoyed a mooch around. Not sure it's teen friendly though.0 -
Forgot to add I had an AFD today! Doh. That's 12/16 for me please Jo.
