Hey Jo - you can resist the bells! YOU CAN!!! :D

I have my bells clanging in my ears as we speak - I am about to do myself another J20 and lemonade to combat them.

Movie night with my OH was fabulous last night. Stayed AF and we sat and watched 3 films, eating munchies and snuggling together until midnight-ish.

My OH told me that she's so happy I am AF. She said she can have a proper conversation with me and we can stay up and do things together (as we did last night), instead of me going to bed, p*ssed up, at 9pm, giving her the odd grunt when she speaks to me.

I am slowly learning from her, what I have been putting her through with my drinking and how lonely she felt. I had no idea it was so bad. I have tons more to learn, but I don't have the courage to ask her about everything at once - it's too shaming and I find the guilt hard to deal with.

So I had a little cry last night, in my sober state, but it was a purging cry for us both and we smiled together after our talk. I feel that's my biggest step forward to date, as we are starting to communicate again. Properly. This huge wall has been built between us, through my drinking. My task now is to take it down, bit by bit by staying sober and focussing my efforts on my OH, who has tolerated such a lot for such a long time.

Sorry for the long post folks! Needed to air my feelings.

Good luck to all who are aiming for an AF night.

    Hugs
    Caz

Bells ringing here too loud as well. Must be the barbie smoke I walked past when walking the dog that triggered it off.

Just off to distract myself by cleaning the kitchen for half and hour and then a glass of pop or J2O (bought 2 packs of 4 yesterday). Here I go to fight the craving armed and dangerous with a microfibre cloth and stardrops!
