Good luck for interview PIR! At a wildlife park with kids, a last minute outing...off to see the snow leopard now then a spot of crazy golf, bet your jealous huh YM??
Ohhh love crazy Golf
To all those that are feeling poorly hope you will feel better soon. Probably tempting fate but I have not had a bad cold/ Flu since I have started taking Echinacea daily ( over a year now). Works for me anyway but I bet I am struck down with something nasty now . As along as it is not Man flu.
Still on 8 but aiming for another one today
Take care all

But she knows when we are out for a meal or something that I can down a drink about four times faster than everyone else.xx
Oh Miss P I know that scenario so well. When you're sharing a bottle with others and you can see it going down much too quickly. I can understand exactly why fay will only drink to excess with selected friends for much the same reason.
I know I still drink too much on non-AF days but I realised that now that OH has largely given up wine and become a beer drinker at home I am drinking less. We used to get through 2 bottles a night but I definitely had the biggest half!
Hope 69chick and Budgie are feeling a bit better. I expect the sick list will grow in coming months.
Have a good day all.0 -

Morning all,
Wecome to Gingernights, I hope you find this thread useful. There are 9 days left in July, why not join us in our AF challenge, or join in August when you have more of an idea about what you want to achieve
GG, do you want me to take you off the July list now you are going total AF?
69chick, hope you are beginning to feel better now? xx
Budge, how you feeling today, if the temp goes up and you have sore throat or cough, ring your GP to get diagnosed over the phone, there are other symptoms too like lethagy, aches and shivers, diahorrea and sickness. You only need 2 of the symptoms to have swine flu. I wish you better hunny x
YM, I too luurve crazy golf. This one was animal themed. DS is a bit of a golfer, he's learning, but yesterday managed a You've Been Framed shot. There were 2 5ft zebras and you had to putt the ball through the legs of the zebra to the hole. My DS, using a small rubber putter, managed to chip the perfect shot OVER the top of the zebra and got a hole in one, I am so pleased there was no one about or we might have been chucked out, he was putting like he was using a driver the whole way round
I'm a bit disappointed in myself really re. the drink (no surprise there then ), I had a lovely day with the kids yesterday and was totally exhausted when we got in so decided I wasn't gonna cook and went down to the chip shop for tea then went to the offy and bought a drink even though I didn't really want itbought half of what I usually did too, so it's odd I knew I didn't want it but it's like I was making myself have it, total rebellious behaviour. Came home ate my pie and chips  felt stuffed stupid and totally exhausted and had a lot of trouble getting through the beer I'd bought, it gave me heartburn and it made me even more tired but I insisted on keeping going till I'd finished the lot
I was desperate to finish it so that then I could have a coffee or a magnum (the ice cream
) (BOGOF in Sainsburys ). Why can't I be like a normal person and drink one and think that I actually don't fancy anymore so put that away for another day and have the coffee or ice cream instead? I wasn't happy till I'd drunk it all
Today has to be AF, I'm sick of it all.
Didn't go into work for overtime today, I decided to sleep in so i'm going down to the butchers in a while to buy something nice for dinner (yes it has got wine in it but I don't drink wine so no temptation there, plus it's cooked off for hours so no alcohol left), I'm going to cook it this afternoon so that I don't have to be in the kitchen tonight then after I've eaten that i'm going to eat as many magnums as it takes to be AF
By the way, I've 'yet again' changed my target....I'm not really thinking about targets now, it'd be nice to do 12 days as that's my favourite number  but, whatever, no pressure.
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Just an update on the bikey progress...
Did the 30 mile route through stockport again on Tuesday night, and it start belting it down with rain (again) on the way there but AGAIN, I didn't give a monkeys. It felt exhilarating to be out there amongst the elements rather than cocooned in a little steel box with wheels on.
Bought a little trip computer from Decathlon and I seem to have set it right because it totted up the overall distance as 30.3 miles (which matches what the car odometer has previously said)
Average speed of 14.5 mph - MAXIMUM SPEED 30.2 MPH !!!!!!!
So now I'm good to go other routes and know exactly how far I've gone, so last night I headed a bit 'off road':
6 miles from my house to Altrincham, where I went down to the Bridgewater canal path
5 miles along the canal path. Stung by nettles all down my right side as I was trying to steer clear of the waters edge. Came to a very low bridge, wobbled a bit, panicked, crashed into side of bridge. bruised my shoulder and head, grazed my ear, wounded my pride
10 miles further down the canal path and just at the point I was about to turn home I realised I had a flat tire. Luckily fixing it gave me a chance to cool down and catch my breath....turned around, headed home
15 miles back down canal path to Altrincham (stung by nettles on down left side), met up with Mrs GP who was there picking up daughter from cadets. Had 1/2 an hour to kill, so had a few cheeky beers at pub
6 miles back home.
So 42 miles all in all, and I'm dead impressed with myself. The 60 miler in September should be a doddle.
On an alcohol related note, I think I'll rejoin the AFD counter again in August, if you don't mind? I'm not going to go for 0 days, I'm just going to control it more and keep a record of how I'm doing. It felt really good last night to absolutely exhaust myself and then have a beer at the end of if (almost at the end of it), rather than to have sat on my backside all evening drinking.
So there.0 -
Well done GP :T:T:T
At least you managed to even out the nettle stings on the way back  :rotfl:

Well done GP sounds like you are really getting into the cycling, I think having a change in habits like that must really help with cutting down on the beer (and food)
Off to catch up on some more posts...Jo just don't leave here, you know you can do it hun xxStarting with Avon C6 target sales £150.000
