I would contact the FOS again, I put my complaint in to Egg back in November 2008 and got an Adjudicator in July.

I thought HFC would be the hard fight, but Egg are far worse in my experience. Even though now I have my SAR information and can clearly prove I paid interest on the PPI and was down on their system as being self employed. They have said they have lost all phonecalls linked to my account and I know I queried the insurance, rather convenient me'thinks.

They won't even transfer me to the complaints department, and advise contact the FOS - probably because their final response "you were made aware of your referral" has no relevance to my actual complaint, in any context.

With the FOS now, so a long wait ahead I fear.

Best of luck everyone waiting for these people to get into gear!

Why isn't the government doing anything about these alleged reputable companies, it's scandalous?

I have been waiting for a resolution in exact same circumstances since the middle of May 09. I contacted the FOS to find out if they indeed were holding up the process as EGG had told me in a previous phone conversation. At that time EGG stated that they had sent figures to the FOS for approval. The FOS stated that this sounded like porky pies as they had never received figures for approval from EGG in any single case previously and it would be highly unusual! It seems EGG are snowed under by successful claims against them and will not admit it. I called EGG today and explained I had been in contact with the FOS and that I would not accept this possible "lie"! They are now promising payment asap and will be working on my successful ombudsman ruling on Monday! I have been given a contact name of the person dealing with my account and they have stated they will pay the funds to my bank via BACS transfer. We will see! I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED
:DOK! After lodging my first complaint with EGG in 2007 about PPI on my loan and then passing it on to the FOS in January 2008 I have finally received £2012.66 from EGG in full settlement of an upheld complaint to the Ombudsman (May 2009). It has taken nearly two years but it was worth it. Im £2000 better off than if I had just given in to the EGG crowd when they first rejected my complaint. Give it a go! Its very much worth the hassle!!:j PLEASE SEE FURTHER UPDATES IN THIS FORUM! BEWARE OF EGG!!!!

Did you get it by way of cheque or did they apply it against the balance of your loan? (or maybe your loan was paid up by the time they settled!) Just curious as they are still refusing to give me my money back as a cheque which in my view is totally unacceptable!!

Bad news - just checked my loan account - EGG have reversed payment previously made to me in July 2009 after successful FOS claim. They have added the PPI back on to my loan and adjusted my monthly payments back up to what they were previously when I had PPI. They have also extended my loan term to take into account of cash paid to me and interest. What are they doing to me? Any ideas? Please help - I am being driven crazy by them.:mad::mad::mad:

    Hi Jagger
Did they confirm in writing they were going to do it this way?

No warning - just checked my EGG loan account this evening! I thought it was all settled 4 weeks ago! This is a nightmare and now I will have to contact them tomorrow to find out what the hell is going on! Can they just reverse everything and raid my bank account? I had a full legally binding judgement in my favour from the FOS!

In my opinion they should have confirmed this with you first, or at least give you plenty of notice to know, in case you wanted to have time on this.
Yes contact them tomorrow and see what is going on, and the FOS as well, if this was originally resolved through the FOS anyway I would go back to them on this.;)

Hi, I also made a complaint to Egg (not FO) re misselling of PPI. Even though it was five years ago, I can clearly recall the customer services lady saying 'you really should take PPI with your loan, it may not be processed and approved should you decide you do not wish to take out this type of insurnace and it is for your own protection'!

Anyway, they came back to me and basically said we don't think it was missold - however we will remove it.

    Then I received this message:

After looking at your Loan I can confirm that the Egg Loan Repayment Protection was removed on 25 February 2008.

Your maturity date was changed as result of the removal.

The maturity date was 27 December 2009 before the removal, it's now 27 November 2009.

This information is available for you to view on the website.

I can have a copy of your Egg Loan statement sent out to you if you like, this will also confirm that it has been removed from your loan.

I look forward to your response.

??? does that just mean we have removed it but we're not entertaining the idea of misselling?
