If a mobile camera unit has been parked onto Cycle lane area that is not designed for the use of vehicles. Or is parked illegally in the sense that if a member of the public was to park in the same location they would be reported for an offence. Are the photos that are obtained by the mobile unit admissable in court as they were obtained through an illegal act

I think it's a case of "Do as I say, not as I do..."0

I did not get any pics as the first thing I knew was a NIP through the post, I belive that this is a common thing that they do around here0

I rarely have any speeding issues but a year ago i was on a dual carriageway pointing downhill and it changed from 50 to 40. I started to slow and then up ahead spotted a vid van. I quickly checked my speed and think it was about 45. I passed the vid van and noted he was parked with the NS wheels on a grass bank and the OS wheels on the footpatch. His van was therfore tilted at about 35/40 degrees as well as being illegally parked. I decided that i;d double back and sneakliy took lots of pics of him which i planned to use as a defence should i get a NIP. It never happened. I was probably ok when i passed him speedwise.0 -
Wouldn't be Portsmouth would it ?
I once saw a camera van parked on the white cross hatching between a dual carriageway and the "on" slip road.
The best bit was that there was so much traffic on both roads it was "stop and go" - you were lucky if you got into second gear - plonkers !
PS: your local paper might be interested.0 -
The nip I have received is for doing 40 in a 30. If possible I would like to see if I can escape any points being put on my licence have been points free for 26 years now hence is the vehicle parked illegaly0

I hope you get the points, There is no excuse for speeding and your looking for ways to weasle out of it0

You have no evidence of the vehicle being parked illegally.
it seems you will be better off paying and learning from the experience.0 -
thanks to Sporedude for the comment I hope that your day comes sooner rather than later0

In Cleveland they hide anywhere and fine you from 33 in a 30 zone, those who drive through Cleveland beware!0
