  • I think I will have to subscribe to this thread! We are massive Disney fans in our house. First visit to Disneyworld was 8 years ago & have been 6 times since then. We always stay on the Disney resorts but during our holiday we make sure we have days off Disney.

Last year we added a Disney cruise on to the end of our Orlando trip and it was amazing, so I highly recommend this to everybody.

We now have a long wait as we are not going this year, but are all booked up for next year. I need to work out how many days it is so I can start the countdown :j

I am trying to book a Horse drawn Carriage for my wife and I but I don't have time to wait 35 mins on a phonecall.

Is there any other way to book it?

We are looking to go to Disney World next October and notice there is an offer on right now (surprise!) if you book by the 9th of July you get the following if booking a deluxe resort for 7 nights. Is this as good an offer as you are likely to see between now and then?

Includes FREE Disney Dining worth £784 plus a $200 Gift Card!

For a moderate resort, you get the following.

Includes FREE Quick Service Dining worth £574 plus a $200 Gift Card!
Appreciate advice for people who have booked before and other offers, should we book now or wait it out to see what other offers come around?

    Thanks in advance.

Free dining is quite a common ploy Toki, but it's hard to say whether it's good value without knowing the price, whatever they say about meal plans. They can be good value. Another factor is how much you actually eat. If you are a light eater they may not be good value.

    Thanks vivatifosi.

Price for 1 week is £868 at Caribbean Beach Resort for example. This includes quick service dining. If upgraded to Disney Dining Plan it goes to £1078, both for 4 people.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is £1372 for the same week with Disney Dining Plan.

I've done two Disney holidays with the dining plan (full one, not quick service) and not having to worry about how much you're spending on food really makes the holiday. Had some really good dining experiences that I otherwise wouldn't have paid out of pocket for such as Narcoossees and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, and enjoyed some very naughty treats that count as a snack credit. Plus because of all the walking you'll be doing you won't put on any weight!

If you go for the regular dining plan, don't forget to budget for tips (20%) for table service meals as these aren't included but are expected. You can charge these to your room account using your MagicBand and then use the $200 gift card as payment towards this.

I Wonder if anyone can help with this as my head is going round in circles.
Planning to go orlando july 16 and to stay in the port orleans. I have went online to get a quote and the deal with passes/free dining plan etc suits us. This may sound a daft question but can I indendantly book flights and still get this deal or do I need to book flights via disney to qualify for this??

You can book the hotel and park tickets and get the dining plan without booking the flights. I intend to do similar, you'll have to wait until 355 or less days before you holiday to book the flights. I suggest you set up an alert via Skyscanner or use ITA Matrix to time the buying of flights to get the best price.
  • We're looking to book a trip to Orlando for the family next year, or possibly the year after so our youngest is a little older, and I'm trying to work out the best time to travel to get the best deal and the best experience. I've found this thread and it's huge! So I shall try to look through some of it!

But any consensus on the best sort of time to go it (a) it needs to be during school holidays, (b) we don't like excessive heat, (c) we'd prefer to go when it's not peak where prices will be higher and it'd be busier?

Easter would be cooler. Look at flying from regional airports. You might also want to consider flying from Dublin.

You might want to consider renting a Villa away from the parks, depending on numbers.

If you shop at Tesco's think about using Clubcard points towards flights can make a huge difference,
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D
