just walmart, publix, shops etc (like the UK) and some restaurants all the parks are open (until they close as they are at capacity ha ha).

Hideously busy isn't halfway to saying how bad it is lol....2012 is the worst I have ever seen it (been every xmas since 2008) 2 hr waits for rides at 8am opening, 1 hr queues for bag check, 15 miles of stationary traffic on the I4..all fastpasses gone by 9am....it was crazy!

But xmas is amazing...I wouldn't want it to be my only trip that year but for a 2nd or 3rd visit....its ace.
    Thanks maemaesmummy
Not sure whether we'll actually brave any of the parks on Christmas Day itself :D
We've all been several times before (at Easter though, not Christmas) and weren't actually planning to go back this/next year at all so anything we do manage to do will be a bonus - just being there will be good enough :)

Is it just Christmas Day and New Year's Day the shops/restaurants will be shut?

  • Just xmas day..most restaurants on the 192 and I Drive are open even xmas day.

Like I say 2012 was the worst I have seen it..the times I quoted for 2 ho queues at opening was actually nowhere near xmas day unfortunately....it was like that from Dec 20th to Jan 5th...when on previous years it has never been that bad for so long.

When we left at 11am on Jan 5th ALL rides were at 2 hrs queues up to 4 hours.....and all fastpasses had gone for the day....

Yes, that's pretty much how I imagined it would be :rotfl:, but thought Christmas Day itself could be even worse.

Does anyone know of any company that accepts Leisure Vouchers for Disney Tickets other than leisure vouchers themselves. They are very expensive £264 for a child's ultimate ticket & £313 for an adults.

I've got £250 of Leisure Vouchers

    Thanks

Aha! That now makes sense. I had to go away and look that up, but I now understand why everyone was walking around wearing Oswald the Lucky Rabbit ears last week.

I'm going on a disney cruise soon! never been on one before and i've been told that they are really good for adults aswell as children, get to spend a few days at disneyworld, florida too i think :)

I've just come back off one. Went on the Dream for four days out of Port Canaveral. Have also previously done a 12 night European and 14 night transatlantic on the Magic.

It is absolutely great for adults as well as kids. If you have kids, there are children's clubs covering all age groups. As adults, you have your own area of the ship as well as adult only shows in the evening. The port terminal is fun too, especially departures (arrivals and customs is not fun anywhere).

What was very exciting about our cruise is we did a full on mayday rescue. Here's a news story about it:

Seriously though, if you have any questions about Disney cruises, don't hesitate to ask. I'm sure I'm not the only one here to have taken one too, so you'll hopefully get a few people able to advise.
