We loved visiting KSC. There was a shuttle on the launch pad when we went, it was due to take off the day after we were there. It's an amazing sight. We'll be going again next year, it's good to know about the new stuff, thanks :)

Glad you had a good time at OKW JustWonderful. Did you pop over to Port Orleans in the end, or just use DTD for your breakfasts?

In terms of the Fantasyland extension, this weekend it is shut for cast member previews (certainly today and I think tomorrow as well). I've heard from various cast members that they are going over dates over the next week. While their previews are happening nobody else is allowed in, so whether it will now be shut for a week or so until the allocated guest previews start I don't know. It's certainly worth checking out if anyone is interested.

My Dad & I went over one afternoon- we were in DTD and he wanted to go to Port Orleans so we went on a bus there (lightning in area so no water taxi). We got there and it started to downpour, ran to the food hall, had an okay dinner but was nice to remember the sights. Had to get a bus to Hollywood Studios and then a bus back to OKW as the storm was still around!

We were there for 16 nights- probably about 4 times we had a dissapointing OKW breakfast, the others was split between DTD and homemade breakfasts. We also had breakfast at Tusker House one day.

Such a shame, albeit understandable, that the counter service is so poor, we also walked to Saratoga Springs one night for dinner, and although there counter service area looks much nicer, the actual food is not quite as good as the surroundings. (Although nicer than OKW).

Just whilst I am thinking about it- anyone reading this who is on the DDP, three restaurants I would reccommend:

*Royal Akershus Banquet Hall, Epcot (If you have a princess fan- nice food, three courses, picture with a princess included.)
*Olivia's at OKW (Whole family agreed the food was the best we tasted)
*Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge (Food delicious, though menu is limited).

Also really enjoyed Cinderella's Royal Table and Tusker House.

Restaurants that didn't meet our standards:

*Fulton's Crab House (Worth 2 meals on the DDP, Didn't rate the food at all)
*Dinner Show at the Polynesian (By far the worst night of our holiday, the show was so so bad, seating is horrific on the DDP, food was chicken and ribs, just not a pleasant evening, again this was 2 meals on the plan)

That is just my two pennies worth on the meals I had, I am sure others would wholeheartedly disagree with my choices!

What a disappointment to hear that you didn't enjoy the dinner show at the Polynesian Justwonderful! :( Just yesterday my DH and I decided that we were going to do it and were going to look into booking it this week! Argh, what to do?! :o

Glad to hear that Sanaa is good though, we're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge so will be eating at Boma and Sanaa and hope that they're worth the money (we're not on DDP :o)! :)

Really hope we can get into Fantasyland when we're there! Will probably just keep popping back until we get in! :j We're there in 13 days and can't wait! :j

Does anyone know what the hairdryers are like in the Disney hotels? I've got long thick hair that gets a little out of hand if left to dry naturally but I don't have a decent travel dryer. Not sure if I should buy a good dual voltage dryer to take with me or if the one in the hotel will be OK? I can't stand those rubbish little ones that are attached to the wall, seem to always end up burning my hand whilst my hair stays wet! :o

We actually left the Polynesian show early as it was that bad, we also went to the Hoop De Doo show, which although not my cup of tea, my 6 year old sister loved, so if travelling with kids then that might be better? Although that is a right pain to get to!! My personal view is that the dinner shows are not worth the money, shows in the parks are of superior standard!

The hairdryer at OKW was like the one you described- on the wall and a bit rubbish, not sure if different at AKL though. We had a bit of a nosey around AKL when we went there for Sanaa, and it looks lovely- the pool is great for kids, and it was nice to see the animals in the garden.

    Have a great time!
  • I have resorted to buying my own US hairdryer and it's still pants...somthing to do with the current/volts used in US wiring I'm led to believe....although if you plug it in the kitchen it runs faster lol

I've had the same problem with straighteners, they just don't get hot enough because the voltage is so low! Will buy a travel dryer and hope for the best but maybe I should just resign myself to the fact that I'm always going to have to suffer the woes of frizzy hair over there! :o

I'm really not sure about the Disney dinner shows now... it's only DH and me going and we're not really boisterous get-involved types so maybe they won't be worth going to? I also want to do Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but again, not sure if it's worth it? Would like to do at least one special thing like this but it's difficult to decide what we want to spend our money on! :o

MVMCP is great fun and I think you'll enjoy it. Try and find out from castmembers if there are dates for which ticket sales are lower. It's much more fun to be one of 15-20,000 in the park for an evening event than one of 55,000, which was the gate for the most recent Saturday Not So Scary Halloween Party. At 55,000, you can barely move and you'll wonder why you've bothered. At 15,000 you can drink as much hot choc as you like and get great views for both the parade and fireworks.

Excuse the crude language, but it is appropriate to the context. If my hair was longer, I could fart on it and it would dry quicker than it would with a Disney drier. They are pants. I have fine hair - though lots of it - and it takes 10 mins just to dry that without styling. Aarrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Disclaimer: farting on hair is not recommended as it no longer smells of lovely Disney shampoo smells.
