My OH has just suggest that we go to Florida next summer so I have just prices up 2 weeks (2 adults; 14yo; 10 yo)going with virgin, staying at Saratoga Springs resort at the end of July 2013, and it is coming in about £6,800, but that includes 14 day ticket, free dining for 2 weeks and $100 disney gift card.
We have been to florida before but have always hired a car as we have done a week in disney and a week in kissimmee, so that we can go to other places and do a bit of shopping.
My question is, is there any transport within the disney complex, that will take us to say the florida mall, outlet centres, or are we best to hire a car for a few days when we want to go out to shop?
Thanks2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -

Personally, I'd hire a car for a few days. You can do that before you arrive, and can pick it up from Disney. Public transport in Florida is certainly possible, but it will eat up valuable holiday time. We find it far more convenient (and not costly) to get a car for part of our holiday.0 -

Thanks for your help. Do you know how I find out about picking up a car at disney, because we thought that we would have to go back to the airport to collect one. It would be so much easier to do at the resort. In the past we have used budget, and alamo.

Oh my gosh, don't go all the way to the airport!
There are loads of places to pick up a car both on and just off Disney property. From Saratoga Springs you could walk to the hotel at the bottom of Hotel Plaza Blvd (can't remember the name but it's opposite the Hilton and nearest to SSR), or get Disney transport to the Dolphin (exit from Epcot to get there) or to the Magic Kingdom Car Care Center. You can get a shuttle there.
I would just use a car hire place like usrentacar (for example, many others) and just select "Disney" as the pick up / drop off locations. Have a play, it's easier when you see it than it is to explain :T0 -
The hotel is called Regal Sun, and you could also collect a car at the Hilton, the Best Western and no doubt other hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd.
We've used the Alamo depot at the Dolphin several times, and also regal Sun (think that was through Budget).0 -

My boyfriend and I came back from a 4 day trip to Disneyland Paris last week and as much as we love it there we'd quite like to go to WDW and a few other parks in Orlando.
My problem is that I am completely clueless as to where to begin looking and, being a 19 y/o on minimum wage I was wondering if it would be possible to do on a lower budget? We'd be wanting to go for 2 weeks flying from Newcastle (unsure of which time of year would be best) so any advice on where to begin would be much appreciated!0
