  • Hey everyone, im looking to go to WDW next may / june. We get married at the end of May and we are flying to Orlando for our honeymoon (we have family out there), my 4 yr old daughter will be staying with my mum at my auntie's house whilst we go on a 4 day cruise to the bahamas but the ship set sails near Disneyland - what i was thinking was for them to meet us at Disneyland on the day we sail back and have a couple of days at Disneyland with her. Now where am i best looking for tickets - we literally just want the disneyland tickets - do you think 3 days will be enough for us? And also any cheap accomodation near by? This is a one off lifetime holiday for us as we have been planning this wedding / holiday for 3 years, and we wanted to take her away on a BIG holiday before she starts school next year. I know its going to cost a fortune but im trying to be as moneysaving as i can be where i can be - our crusie for instance is only costing us $700 which i didnt think was too bad as we only have to pay for flights to USA as my auntie is letting us stay in her house. Any advice would be gratefully received :)
  • Where is the cruise leaving from?..I assume when you say Disneyland (Anaheim) you mean Disney World (Orlando)

WDW is inland and the nearest terminals would be Port canaveral or Tampa, both of which are over an hours drive.

Which parks do you want to do..there are the main 4 parks so if you intend trying to step foot in all 4 in 3 days you will stamina and a park hopper ticket. With a youngster would try and concentrate on Magic Kingdom..make sure you get FP and plan your trip well.

Lots of cheaper accomodation nearby on World Drive, LBV. Don't forget the parking cost currently at $14 per day

  • Hi yes i meant DIsneyworld - the boat comes in at Port canaveral - would you just concentrate on the magic kingdom then? THis is going to be our last family holiday for a good few years so i want to make it as special as i can for her without obviously making ourselves bankrupt. Would you advise getting a hopper ticket?
  • It depends on what you want to do hun.... if you want to visit other parks in the same day you will need a hopper ticket to let you do that.
We like different parts of all the parks but if pressed MK is probably what everyone pictures when they think of WDW :)
I guess she will want to meet characters which can in itself take hours and hours..the shortest time I have ever seen for the fairies is 35mins and thats at 9am in the morning.
There are lots of rides in MK for her age and if you plan your day correctly you could probably do a lot in 2 days..which would leave you with 1 day to pick another park to do.
The best advice I can give is to go prepared, do your research and choose your battles lol...

I'd agree with this. Your DD is only little so doing more will probably wear her out. :) MK is best for little ones and if you want to make it really special for your DD get her booked into the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for the first morning. It's expensive but you can just go for the hair and sparkly make-up option which is the cheapest (~ $60) but she'll still get the experience and make sure that you buy a princess dress (and paint her nails) before you go instead of paying crazy money whilst you're in the shop! :money:

If you do want to do more than 1 park on top of MK I'd suggest either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios (both have plenty of rides for little ones, fab shows and great meet-and-greets - check them both out to see which appeals more). It would also be good to go to a water park for a more relaxed day, again check out Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach to see which appeals more. Water park days tend to be shorter than theme park days so you could probably get some time at Downtown Disney afterwards to have a look around the massive Disney store and the Lego shop etc. :) Whatever you choose to do you'll have a great time!

I've used Floridatix, they're really good. Sign up to the newsletter and every couple of months they'll send out a code to use on a selected weekend for 5% off. :) They're probably due another one soon...

They send real tickets rather than vouchers, delivery is fast and they throw in a $10 Planet Hollywood voucher with every order too. :)
