Hoping for some help here!
My family and I are off to WDW at the end of September, and I thought I would take a look at booking the restaurants this week.
When we last went in 2008 it was done over the phone, however I now see you can do it online.
My query is that we have only paid the deposit so far, I have done a trial booking at one restuarant and that seemed to be accepted okay, but then I went to book Cinderella's Royal Table and it asked for a payment of over $200 (6 guests). I thought it was on the Dining Plan so can't see why I have to pay out that money? Is it because I have only paid the deposit or would it be like that even when the balance is paid in full?
Hopefully I make some sense!!0 -
Hi all, I'm hoping someone will be able to answer a couple of questions for me! I found you all very helpful when I was planning my honeymoon to Orlando last year. My DH and I loved it so much we're hoping to go back again in October/November, budget and other life-shaped stuff allowing!
Last year we stayed on I-Drive but since we didn't hire a car (we don't like driving at the best of times so are happy to not use a car on holiday!) we regretted not staying at a Disney hotel and taking advantage of the excellent transport and we found that we couldn't stay as late as we'd have liked in the parks etc. Anyway, we've decided that when we go back we're staying on site (looking at Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter). We also want to get the Disney Dining Plan as we found ourselves avoiding some of the nice restaurants because of the cost so having it all paid for ahead of time (excluding drinks/tips of course) is very tempting to us!
I've been trying to price it up individually through a few sites but the dining plan is a bit awkward to add on with most sites as it looks like you have to ring up to do it, I know that we have to add park tickets at the same time which is fine (although a little galling as I know I can find them cheaper elsewhere!). I've found some good deals on Expedia but it doesn't mention the dining plan, does anyone know if it can be added to a hotel booking with them?
Oh and I got an e-mail from FloridaTix saying that they're having a one-day sale on Sunday the 27th, use the code MAY5 on the day to get 5% off everything. Hope this helps someoneOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I am sure this website has been recommended before so apologies for putting it up again but I really have found it to be the best for our Disney excursions
It links the Dining Plan and you get a discount for booking the Disney Dining Plan and Tickets together.
Hope that helps!
Oh well, as a new user I am not allowed to post with a link. So...go do a web search for disneyinternational.com and put wdtc. at the beginning!Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0 -

I wouldn't worry, it is standard Disney policy to take a deposit for Cinderella's Royal Table to ensure that you turn up as it is a signature dining experience and very, very popular. Your card will not be charged if you are on the Disney Dining Plan and turn up (you will need to give at least 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel). I've not done this restaurant before (even though I've been to the Land of the Mouse 10 times now!) but from what I have heard, I believe you will have a great time!Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0 -

Hi,
Not that I am doubting you, but when I booked a table for another restaurant it took my payment card and said it will not be charged, however with Princess Table it says you card will be charged $218 or something like that...:eek:0 -
To give yourself piece of mind I would phone Disney dining reservations but if you already have the dining plan as part of your reservation, when you call to reserve Cinderella's table they will take your credit card details as guarantee but only to use it for holding your booking and you will just use 2 dining credits per person when you do show up. If you don't turn up or give 24 hours notice to cancel, THEN they will charge the card....and that definitely would be :eek:Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0

Hi,
I've got a few questions/things I need help with,
2 adults, 6yr old & 11month old (eek!)
We're looking to go for 3 weeks this November, leaving anytime between 5 -15th.
It's our 2nd trip, last time we did a 2wk Disney ticket, then 4day Universal (knackering!) so with a baby we are looking for a more 'chilled out' stay. OH said when he went as a kid they would get a 7day ticket, but you can do any 7 days you want. Not sure which parks we can get covered in something like this, we'd like Disney, Universal & Seaworld? Not interested in thrill seeker parks.
We want to relax at a villa, & around the pool, so don't mind paying a little extra for a slightly luxury villa (is there a website for better villas?) as were weren't overally impressed with the last one. We paid £1500 for 3weeks, pool charges thrown in (is that a usual 'deal to be done' ?) so maybe £1800 all in?
And lastly (I think!) our visit is over Thanksgiving, is this a great time to get involed with American tradition? Will there be extra events on? (I've read its best to avoid the parks on these days) A great place to eat?
We'd like to see what else Florida has to offer, while juggling (a very well behaved) 6yr old & (I have no idea how good or bad he'll be!!) 11month old!
And should we completely avoid going out on Black Friday, or would it calm down in the afternoon & we might pick up some bargains?
Many thanks for any help you have! :AI'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -
You would need a magic your way ticket for WDW..the 7 day ticket is the same as the 14 in that the clock starts from 1st use then expires either 7 or 14 days later if you have been or not.
Again for Seaworld and Universal you can get a 1 or 2 day ticket but probably cheaper to get the uk 14 day ticket.
Black friday is the maddest of the mad our rellies hit the malls at 4am and witness fights etc over the bargains.
Depends on the area you want re the villas...closest to the parks, Formosa Gdns, Emerald Island, Rolling hills et al are more expensive than the likes of Highlands Reserve and highgate park. Would advise that you check out the dibb ..but before you rent any villa privately check the state tax offices to check that they a own the villa and b that the taxes are up to date and c that they are registered for rental.Bit of a Florida Fan :j
8/12/08 Highlands Reserve, 3/12/09 Calaby Parc
18/8/10 Villa Upper Class 19/12/10 Villa Upper Class
10/08/11 C P Tower Lake 10/12/11 C P Tower Lake

A bit of advice needed, we are all (9) going to Orlando next Tuesday (Cant wait) and have a lot of birthdays, anniversaries, fathers day etc when we go.
I am thinking of booking the Pirate dinner show for us all to go to, but as we are staying on Idrive we will not have a car and will be relying on the i trolley. Does anyone know how far the show is from Idrive as the reply i had from the pirate show was just not far.
Many thanks0 -

Depends where on IDrive you are staying as it's a rather big road!
Pirates dinner is on Carrier Road sort of across the road from the Titanic experience (just off idrive).
Trolley stops 13 North or Green 07 South.0
