  • Thanks for all of your replies- I was thinking end of September time but I suggested it to my OH and his reaction at waiting for our honeymoon 6 months after the wedding said it all!
I think the end of April could be a go-er, I've looked at prices and they're pretty similiar to Easter but that's fine, I'd rather be paying the same but have less crowds.

I'm going end of September this year, but I can see why you wouldn't want to wait that long for a honeymoon. Whilst end of April crowd levels are likely to be higher than the times I suggested, it is likely to be a lot quiter than when you originally suggested so I think your making a good move.

    Hey everyone,

My husband and I have just booked flights from the 31st August til the 15th Sept 11 to Orlando and are in a bit of a pickle about hotels. We would like to go to Universal & IOA, Wet n wild, Seaworld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and all the Disney Parks. We don't intend on driving and thought it would be best to split our 15 days by having 8 days on i drive/Universak and 7 days closer to Disney.

Would you be able to suggest some hotels on i drive and nearer Disney that are moderately priced that offer shuttles to and from the parks and have breakfast? I must say all the reviews on the hotel booking websites are so mixed that my head is in a spin!!!

Also could someone please give me info on transfers from Orlando International? I understand the taxi is around $55, could i do this any cheaper?

One last thing......If we were to get the one ticket via Pilliangertravel would we qualify for the Busch Gardens free coach travel?

Thank you so much in advance and apologies if these questions have been answered somewhere within the 201 pages.

i can recommend quality inn international drive went last spring and found it clean and friendly they had just refurbished it.
going again in september got 14 days booked through expedia for 2 adults and a child for £452 and then got 12% from quidco so got it to under £400.

but it all depends what you are looking for and what budget you have, the way i see it in orlando the hotel is only for sleeping so not after the ritz just clean and comfortable.

yes all sorted cut my losses with the villa, decided on a hotel as got a good deal and thought i would make use of the transport to disney and universal to save on car parking.
after all the trouble i just thought better booking something i know will be fine and for £392 after quidco i cant complain.
  • Thanks everyone for your help- I think we're looking at going for the first 2 weeks of May, which will hopefully avoid the Easter and Memorial Day crowds, and is only 5 weeks after the wedding so not too long to wait!

We are leaving tomorrow for our holiday, last minute booking. I doubt I have any hope of getting actual tickets in my hand for disneyworld but where is best to get at such last minute? Undercover tourist?? Possibly actual Disney store here, if that was actual tickets it might be worth it to avoid the queue to get our tickets at the park.

    Thanks

We went to planey hollywood, the food was very nie. But beware they added quite a large service charge. We paid it, although have since found it, it is optional. I knwo it forms part of the staf wages, but to be charged over 20 dollars it quite a bit imho.

If its you birthday/anniversary remember to tell the staff, they usually do something special.

Does anyone know if you have birthday while at disney, can you still go to MK and geta free gift voucher??

No, unfortunately it was a one year deal back in 2009.

We are going to Orlando next May 2 adults 2 children and I notice a lot of people talking about restaurants they have booked prior to going. We are staying on international drive and will have a car so where are the best ones or some suggestions where would be good for us to book before going. The children will be 10 and 6. Thanks.

People will probably be talking about Advanced Dining Reservations at the Disney restaurants, either in the parks or one of their hotels. You can make reservations up to 180 days in advance, so if you know which parks you are visiting on any particular day, you could if you were planning on having a character meal make a reservation for that day.

If you visit the Disney website, you will be able to see the various restaurants at each park/hotel, food style and whether a character meal or not.

For eating outside of Disney on I-Drive, we have particularly enjoyed Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze and Tony Romas. For the first two, you can phone ahead on the day to get your name put on a wait list which could save you some time when you arrive there.
