we were planning on staying on i-drive
as this is what we did in 2005 but this time we are taking our little girls who will be ages 3 and 4 we have been talking and have decided to miss out universal and ioa and just do disney sea world
and bush gardensanyway we are hoping to book a villa, which area would be best for this and i was hoping to book one with theme bedrooms although we only need a small one as there will only be 4 of us, would love some help with this
Have a look on the Dibb, loads of themed bedrooms on villas there.
We like villas in the Formosa Gardens area, eg Emerald Isle, Roling Hills, Lindfields. If you know Orlando, they are right by where Splendid China was; five minutes to WDW by the back entrance of Sherberth Road, and close to an I4 junction for access to everything else.
There will be loads of other options though, many great for different reasons :T0 -
Thanks so much for all the reply's.Can you recommend a disney apartment for us to stay in?
The obvious ones are Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, and Old Key West. The reason for this is because these tend to be on offer for massive discounts, and may also offer free dining at certain times of year - which is a great saving, but NOT for everyone. My friend just got back and was deeply unhappy she had wasted (her words not mine) her once in a lifetime trip, in restaurants when she would have been happy with quick, on the hoof meals, maximing her time enjoying the rides.
Saying that, staying onsite at Disney is not for everyone, either..... I love it, but not everyone does!0 -
Hi Folks
We are thinking of a holiday to Florida / Disney in 2012 starting around the 24th March for 2 weeks.
Could anyone give me a rough idea of the cost of a flight for that time of year? As we have never been to Florida I have no idea what is a good deal.
Thanks CC0 -

You should be able to price it up online already for those datestry www.kayak.co.uk which will give you options. Generally, midweek, indirect is the cheapest way to fly.
Not to try and be unhelpful, but the price will go up around Easter, and I don't know if your date covers that or not. Best to price it yourself to get the best idea. Previously I've paid as little as £350 to fly at Easter, and as much as £650, but flight prices are much higher now due to: extra taxes, less flights, cost of jet fuel. Hence why it's best to price yourself rather than go by what others have paid before, IMHO.0 -
I am now officially googled out.Have been looking at all the pages suggested and have got a base price for flights and hotel (b&b) for july 2012 the hotel, The Champions World Resort is situated just three and a half miles from the Walt Disney World Resort and offers free scheduled transportation to the Disney theme parks, Sea World and Universal Studios...Has anyone stayed here before that can offer any advice?
Flights are coming in at £1636 for the 4 of us for 2 weeks and hotel is £378.
Is this a good price or should i keep googling and maybe catch a bargain.0 -

I add Mission Park and West Haven to that list, just off H27, close to I4, not far from Formosa Gardens etc. I use https://www.floridamousehouse.com
Personally, i wouldn't do it without a car, i like the freedom a car gives you to go wherever you like. We've only ever stayed in Villas, i wouldn't like to be staying on I Drive, too busy for me but i appreciate that if you don't have a car the transport options are better from there.0 -

Good flight price!
God you are going to be sick of the sight of me!!
Yes I have stayed here, but many years ago, so I can't advise on how the hotel is now but I can advise on the location. Don't stay here without a car.
The free scheduled transport will be very, very limited and make your day in the parks a nightmare to plan. If you don't want to drive, stay onsite at Disney or on I Drive.0 -

Try to avoid early June, it is gay week late May/Early June and the parks will be packed to the rafters and they have a pool party at Typhoon Lagoon (I think) on the monday/Tuesday and all go to MK on the Saturday. I'd choose the later end of June as you have pre-schoolers and can go anytime, or early May.
I'd also say -I think Islands of Adventure is much better for Pre-schoolers than Busche Gardens, there was not a huge amount for little ones to go on. You'll see the same animals at Animal Kingdom.
Just my opinion though0
