I was wondering how you managed to get prices for flights so early? I am still waiting for July 2012 flight prices to be released and am hoping for around £600-£700 PP max again with TC.

    Hi Louise

Charters and fly drives / packages (eg booked through Virgin Holidays) have been available for a few weeks now for summer 2012.

Scheduled flights (ie flight only, non package) only get released 11 months before the return date :)

Just reading what you and BlueMonkey have listed and I had a look around. I was looking at staying at Disney in May 2012 for two weeks but then looked at the website you mentioned and was surprised how reasonable the prices were and how nice the villas were. I called Disney and was given a price for Saratoga Springs - there are 2 adults and two children 7 and 3 so I looked at a Studio. I did look at the Fort Wilderness lodges but for cheaper I could get a Studio at Saratoga and it looks lovely. Have you used this company a few times - I take it they have a good reputation - I've never been the States so all this is new to me. Mission Park does look like a good site. Who do you usually book your flights with?

Hi, I usually call Sue Bowler at https://www.floridamousehouse.com and she arranges them for me, she uses a travel agent called Charter Travel, our flights were Virgin and the car was through Budget, you can call Charter Travel yourself but Sue has good contacts there. Mission Park is a lovely site i'd go there again although it's 4 years since we went there. The Shire at West Haven is a fairly new development and has other subdivisions which are all good too. Have a look around on Google Maps at both, you'll get an idea of what to expect.

Ah I see (bites fingernails) I have seen what I think is a good deal for a family of 4 (Me, Hubby, DS1 aged 18 and DS2 aged 16)

Flying out 19th July 2012 from Manchester (only date we can go) Flights + villa at westridge £3858 no car included as will organise own.

Is this a good deal do you all think? or should I wait?
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Are you happy with it ? :)

I guess it breaks down roughly to villa of approx £1k and flights approx £2800 ish, or £700 each per flight?

If you have no flexibility on the date you can fly, then it may be as good a deal as you are going to get (unless you have nerves of steel and can wait it out ;) )

While I am happy with the price, I think for my 40th I would like to pick the actual villa instead of taking pot luck. Flights are coming in at the moment at £3136 with TC on 19th July, cant seem to get a price for Virgin yet?

Villa I am budgeting £1200 so that comes to £4336 which is £500 more but will meet all of our requirements including a spa/games room and a good location at high grove resort.

    Decisions, decisions......

Above - contact delwyn (his is the first page on 185) and he can give you the price of a fly drive.
  • Hey there,
Just wondering if anyone can recommend any particular villas they have stayed in, or a source of finding villas? Bit worried about choosing one, getting there, and discovering its horrible! I have been before and stayed in a hotel, but due to our group composition I think a villa would be the far better option this time.

We would have a car, group size up to 7 people. We are looking for a cheaper option (think I have seen there are disney villas - definitely wouldn't want to pay that much!)

    Thanks in advance

The Disney villas aren't exactly villas, more like condos, but Disney do refer to them as villas.

I've rented some lovely villas direct from owners - personally I wouldn't do it any other way, as I like to know exactly what the villa is like, where it is etc. I do this through https://www.thedibb.co.uk but this won't necessarily be the cheapest way.

We are booked to fly to Orlando on 21 October 2011 and have just been pricing up tickets. This will be our 8th time and we plan to revisit parks that we have not been to for a long time as our daughter Emma is now 12 and can go on everything. We have not been to IOA or Busch Gardens for 10 years so very excited to see how these parks have changed (IOA will have changed massively due to the Harry Potter extension). We last visited in 2008 and I'm wondering whether any of the Disney parks or Seaworld have changed that much in that time. Anybody been recently and seen any changes? We are only planning to buy a 2 day ticket for Disney and will go to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios - are planning to go to Magic Kingdom for the Halloween Party though.

I know when we were there last there were signs that the recession had taken hold as there were loads of condos up for sale.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
