We are using Tesco vouchers for the Eurotunnel too so only diesel to worry about. Kind if scary but also very liberating in knowing we can take whatever we want in our car without having to worry about cases.
We're driving to DLP this year, it's our first trip there (though we have done WDW a few times). I've heard that food can be quite expensive there, so the car will be loaded up with snacks and drinks cartons for us to take to the parks.:)0 -

We went in November, it was lovely but with a slight breeze, the sun was warm enough to go. And because it is too cold for the locals it's just full of Brits who think that it is hot, LOL.
I wouldn't risk anything other than a one piece either.
We went to Aquatica on New Years Day and there were only Brits there then, it was lovely and quiet.0 -

We were at Typhoon Lagoon and Aquatica last week - seems like an age away now though! DH and i wore our crocs but only problem with them in the lazy river is your feet bob to the surface all the time:rotfl:The surface at the giant wave pool is like sandpaper though so watch your arms and legs - kids got some crackers on theirs! They wore the Factor 50 tshirts and swim shorts.
Dh and I had swimsuits Shorts in the pool then when we came out had to put our fleece on as it was only 65!! Which incidently is warm for us!No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

OMG. I got completely anhialated at Typhoon Lagoon. I tried to take a pic of the wave coming towrds me and got up too late. I couldn't get up, tried to fight it but gave up and ended up rolling to shore lke a beached whale instead. I was scratched and bleeding on my thighs, shoulders, back and elbows were really bad and I ended up with big scabs on those. I was so annoyed at myself for getting caught out. My husband told me to go to First Aid but I was too embarrassed.0

They were very fierce , I heard the screams and thought it was just the usual teenage drama - till i went in myself and it nearley swept me off my feets!!No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Hi,
I'm hoping theres someone out there who can help/advise re:
wanting to go disney this year anytime between 15 july and got to be back 3 september.
Depending on how long you want to stay in Orlando, flight prices generally seem to drop around 22nd August. You can also save additional money if you would consider an indirect flight from Manchester.
Just had a quick search on this site and examples of prices, all for 2 weeks departing Manchester are:
21/08 £781 MAN - Philadelphia - Orlando (US Airways)
22/08 £677 MAN - JFK (out)/Atlanta (rtn) - Orlando (Delta)
23/08 £593 MAN - Philadelphia - Orlando (US Airways)
For comparison, direct flights with VA on same dates are £964, £1529 (ouch!!) and £760 for the same three departure dates respectively.
HTH at least with the flights.0 -
Hi
going to Orlando June 23rd, 2 adults, 2 x DS age 19 & 16, really looking forward to it :j we have sorted flights with Virgin and villa in Davenport, just need to do car hire, (thinking Alomo)and park tickets.
Advice please with regards to the park tickets, I have looking at buying the orlando flex ticket at £189 each which gives us 14 days at the universal parks and then a Disney ticket for 7 or 5 days, we plan on doing all the main parks for a day each, do you think getting the 14 day pass will be too much or the better way of getting them.
Also can you park say at one of the Disney parks and then move to another one without having to pay the parking fee again.
Getting lots of tips of this thread, i.e. the photo pass, cash card thingy, sorry cant remember what it called.
Have to say wasn't planning on doing DW at all (hate flying, did the Dominican last year and said never again would fly that far ) but had some really bad news at the beginning of this year and thought sod it!! you only live once!!0 -
Hi All
Off to Orlando in May with hubby and 2 boys aged 8 & 5, have been searching for the cheapest tickets and so far have found that the Freedom ticket from attractionticketsdirect is coming out the best value at £399 per adult and £352 per child as it gives unlimited admission for 14 days.
Can anyone advise if this is going to be the best price I'll get as don't want to book them incase I can get them cheaper.
Oooh, just realised it's only 12 weeks away:j
Also it's the first time I've taken the kids abroad really, apart from DW Paris 3 years ago, and I'm a bit concerned about the flight, I'm not a good flyer myself (understatement as I'm terrified of flying) and on top of that am worried on how to keep the kids occupied. Has anyone any good suggestions for how to keep the kids entertained and how to keep them in their seats for the flight?0 -

Hi,
Who are you flying with? If the plane has IFE (tv's in the back of seats) this will keep them occupied for quite a while. DS's, PSP's and ipods are good as well, just make sure that they're fully charged. I always pack lots of snacks, partly to break up the time and partly because my kids hate airplane food. Comics are good, a pack of cards and when my kids were younger Top Trumps was a good one to take.
I'm sure your boys will be fine on the flight, have a great time.0 -
