Anta Fe this time. I am a bit dubious about it being a 'budget' hotel as we have been staying at the higher class resorts (heck, that makes me sound like a snob) but I hear it has a Cars theme so thought it would be nice for the kids.
We are driving this time - worked out we could get to Paris in the same time it takes to get to Cornwall so thought 'why not'. We are using Tesco vouchers for the Eurotunnel too so only diesel to worry about. Kind if scary but also very liberating in knowing we can take whatever we want in our car without having to worry about cases.
My sister is going to house and dog sit for us so that kills 2 birds with one stone. We have fitted it in with her work holidays so that she does not lose any money (she is a nanny and the family are away that week).
Did you know we got another dog on the way HOME from our Orlando flight landing Viv? We was supposed to get her on the Wednesday but we could not wait that long, got home, dumped the cases, unpacked and went to get her. :rotfl:0 -

You should be ok in April, but flip flops are good too as concrete can get hot in the sun.
LOL, I would also agree that you need to go for security in a swimming costume
Also, I'd recommend some water shoes. They sell them in the water parks (not cheap), but Walmart and the like do them for a few dollars. They are ideal as you can wear them on the rides, and they protect your feet from the hot concrete, but also when it's rough. In the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon, for example, you can get scraped body parts, and I like to keep my feet as unblemished as possible0 -

I haven't stayed at Santa Fe but I'm sure it will be fine. I've walked down to it from DLP but it was quite a long way, I think if I stayed there I'd definitely take the bus. It didn't have a Cars theme when I went though, they must have had a refurb since.
You did mention the dog, but uppermost in my mind - to this day - is the thought of Blue Monkey towers done up for Christmas. I just have this thought of a British version of the Osborne family lights. Hope that the dog is settling in well though. Getting one on the way home is a bit hardcore for me!Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hi Viv,
Yes, it has had a refurb, about a year ago I believe now. We have our BB so I think we'll drive and park if we don't have the energy to walk. We walked much further in Orlando, it would be bad not to walk for 15 minutes, LOL. We stayed in SL and had to walk along the river to get to the park and our unit backed onto the road and Santa Fe is the next hotel up the river so I do not think it is too far. Walking was not that bad in all fairness.
LOL, yes, it is more or less. I am not sure I have any pics on this picture but that tree that Mrs Osborne had on her kitchen roof - I have been trying to get one of those for years that is bigger than 5ft but not found anything. I need 10 ft at least. We used to have more in our other house but don;t have the room here.
Yes, pup is settling in well thanks. It made us unpack pretty fast anyway.0 -

Track suits and t-shirts at the water parks? I don't think they will let them wear tracksuit trousers (they will get heavy with the water too) but light t-shirts yes. Mine have 3/4 wetsuits so if you are worried about the sun, you can get them cheap enough on eBay and wear them and they give heavy protection and are suitable attire.
From experience - I personally would not rely on hotel shuttle buses. If not staying in Disney check out the Radisson at Celebration or Radisson on Parkway (they are marketed under different names I see) as there is a Lynx bus stop right outside and it goes into Disney. Lynx Tickets are $15 per week for unlimited use and kids under 6 travel free and they run all over Orlando. Buy 2 tickets and use one each week - they start on first use.
Lynx buses are every 15-30 minutes running into Disney and back and it takes about 7 minutes each way - whereas the hotel shuttle (if you can get on it) is once a day and then you are limited to time. The bus also stops at Walmart at the end of the 192 - in fact there is one each end of the bus route plsu plenty of places to go and eat along there too. Arabian Nights is also walking distance.0 -
Oh, and I have actually lost my bikini bottoms at Typhoon Lagoon. In 2000. Never, ever again. I had to send someone to retrieve them from the shoreline. I have never, ever, EVER been more embarrassed in my entire life.

Def tankini at least! My bikini top we all the way up at wet and wild. Last time we went to aquatica, I wore a tankini AND boarder shorts. This was in Feb so was a bit cold for just a tankini.

Will only wear a one piece - even a tankini has pants!!
We went in November, it was lovely but with a slight breeze, the sun was warm enough to go. And because it is too cold for the locals it's just full of Brits who think that it is hot, LOL.0
