DLP for us in June this year though. Yeah, at least we get our Disney fix, even if it is a small one. And we can go on Crushes Coaster which is brilliant, our favourite!! We are buying shares and are joining the shareholder club too!! LOL!!
This is the weirdest bit of googling I've ever done... looking stuff up and trying to not read it. Hopefully this explains it, but I haven't read it!

Amazing, thanks. I am 'sharing my memories' but need to create an account - the one I have is not working. A job for tomorrow as my bed is calling. Are you going to be there with him soon?0 -
They've put in a new pre-show and in his words "it's phenomenal, as good as the fireworks and I want to meet the imagineer who thought it up and shake his hand". Starts about 15 mins before Wishes, so any old timers like me who turn up last minute and just look up Main Street, don't you'll miss out.
Nooooooo!!!! What are you doing to me?!! We have a trip which involves flight to Sanford then Georgia and S Carolina planned with a visit to Harry Potter being the only park visit we need. After all, we have seen it all before............!!!???

Hi,
Florida is one of those rare places (and yes there are others, lol) that lets you forget your troubles while your there and real life stresses. You will really see your little one open up to all the experiences and visual overload on offer! I took my elder 3 kids 6 times between 1998 and 2004.We stopped going as when they started to get older i wanted us to experience other places!
I now have a soon to be 3 year old and i want him to experience orlando and we would just like to go back as well.
Do you have access to the Disney Playhouse channel? If you do, get your little one watching that and see what the reaction is-chances are he'll pick out a favorite character /show and you can try and get him a couple of bits to try and get your enthusiasm up also, lol.
Try to go on sites such as the dibb and dis boards and read some trip reports. It will give you an idea of what to expect and you won't look like a complete novice when everyone is harping on about stuff, lol!
I have not been in years and in all honesty, i envy people who have never been as you cannot beat that first time of seeing it all IMHO!
We are more into Universal studios than Disney (which we would leave out altogether if not for the LO) You should definitely consider these parks in my opinion as they do have some good things for under 5's too! Which parks you should end up with really will have to be personal choice in the end though as they all have something to offer so just read trip reports, and look at the parks on the internet and even you tube!
I really hope you and your family have a great time!My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »Hello guys!
I need converting to wanting to go to Florida ASAP!!
My MIL has a villa in Florida but to be perfectly honest it has never struck me as somewhere that interests me, I have spent the last 5 years avoiding going LOL!
Well we have now booked a trip in April which will end in Florida for approx 6 days and I need to work up some enthusiasm
We will be travelling down by car (we fly into New York) and we obviously have somewhere to stay, which is in Kissimee.
I have said that I don't want to do more than 2 parks over the 6 days (after over a week of roadtrip we will need some relaxation and pool time) and we have a 2 year old and an 11 year old with us.
Any tips? Particularly about the cheapest way to do 2 parks (and which are likely to be best for us). But most of all I just need to get a little excited!!!
Hubby has been over there twice in the last 5 years (without me LOL!) and DSS who is 11 has been about 5 times either with his dad or his mum. At the moment they are both excited about this bit of the holiday and I just see it as the bit on the end that means I can do all the other exciting stuff:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Hi All
Sorry i am still not been able to fidn a right hotel near the parts. Looking to books either Raddison hotel-lake Buna Vista or Royal Plaza. Has anyone stayed in anyof this and if someone can suggest any others they have stayed. Also as i am travelling with 2 kids would prefer Fridge and bit of kitchen else fridge and Microwave.
Other question i have is about the transport from Airport to Hotel as hotel do not provide that how people been arranging that do you just get the Taxi once you get there or pre-book it. And the last question about the theme park tickets. Was thinking of getting a 14 day ticket but i think it does include sea world or Bush garden. e are going to be there for 10 days including the day we arrive and the day we leave.
Many Thanks.0 -
busymum, have you booked your flights? Who is going, what time of year and what is your budget.
I think Port Orleans resort you can get a mini kitchen (some can confirm?) and it'll mean you get free transprt to and from the airport on the Magical Express too.
Ticket you can get are:
Universal 2 park pass - 15 days. gets you into Universal and Isalnds of Adventure (next to each other)
2 park bonus ticket - Seaworld and Aquatica
3 park Bonus ticket (some places have these on the price of a 2 park at the moment) SW, Aquatica and Busch Gardens. Also gives you free transport to Busch Gardens, bookable online, collection from a number of places. Again you can see these online.
Disney Ultimate tickets - tickets giving you unlimited access for either 7, 14 or 21 days. Not much difference in prices in all of these to be honest, a 14 day would be your best option.
If you stay on a Disney resort, depeding on when you go (Augtil Nov) you can get free dining so it makes it quite cheap to stay there. Please let us know more, staying in a Disney resort is not as expensive as you think when you take the free food and transport into consideration.
Hope this helps somewhat.0 -
Hi all. Hope you can advise me on a destination airport. My sister has asked me to look for flights to Florida for her & her family in November, but hasn't given me much else to go on!
She wants to fly from Manchester, though I guess Newcastle would also suit if there were flights available. I'd imagine she wants to fly direct if at all possible.
Should I be looking for flights to Orlando airport or somewhere else? I'd never even heard of Sanford Airport until today!
Thanks in advance for your help :-)From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -
Yes, MCO or Orlando International is the main airport in Orlando, it is nearer the Walt Disney area, about 30 minutes further north though and you'll get to Sanford Airport. I *think* that only BA and Virgin fly direct into MCO although you can get lots of flights into Sanford.
The Disney Magical Express will take you to MCO on your last day for free if staying in a Disney property.
You really need to find out exactly what it is she wants out of this holiday as, if she is a non-driver, it'll be more hassle getting to and from Sanford but the flights can be cheaper. Have a look on Google maps and you'll see where they are in relation to each other, WDW and Universal.
Any ideas on where she is planning on staying? Does she just want flights?
Hope that helps somewhat.0 -

It sure does help. Thanks, blue_monkey. I guess she is looking at a starting point to help build the best value holiday she can. She did mention they would be hiring a car so I know I have a couple of destination airports to make a start.
Thanks again!From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!0 -

As cheap flights have become more scarce, I would not rule out a package holiday. Depending on time of year, they can be hard to beat on price nowadays. Certainly worth getting a comparison.
As a general rule, schedule flights go to Orlando international, charter (package) to Sanford.
Remember though, a 'free car' offered with a package is rarely free in Florida, the insurances you need are expensive, so you will need to factor that in your comparison price.0
