Sounds like fun Blue monkey. would love to do that but I think that my children are to young to stay up so late and would be tired before we started.
Do you fly on the 24th? Not long now?January Grocery 11/3740 -

If you see Cruella De Vil with 2 child sized dalamations then that will be me. And there might be an adult sized dalmation with me too...... I am working on that one, :rotfl: Don't hold out too much hope!!
So there will be Cruella, 2 child dalmations with flashing collars (oh yes!!) and a bloke walking alongside us looking mortified, that will be us.
We have a board in the kitchen where we mark off the days to go. LOL. We go on 24th.
I will keep a look out for you all then - my son is going in a Death Phantom outfit basically an all black outfit with a red collar and belt number 220624251819 on ebay! I'm going as a witch - with purple trim on the edge of my hat and purple streaks in my wig - purple spiders on my gloves and cape and stripey purple & black tights - very co-ordinated lol - I even managed to get a black lipstick in our local pound shop! - but purple nail varnish - how sad am I!!!!
Only 33 days to go now - that doesn't seem long at all - I also found out my neighbours a few doors away and their daughter are also going to be there at the same time too.0 -

We went to the Princess and Pirate Party in 2007 with a 3 and 5 year old and that was a midnight finish, I think we got home at 11pm after the 2nd parade. I could watch the same parade over and over, LOL. They are usually different and I'll always remember our forst DLP trip with this 'rogue' toy sodlier at the back who was strutting his own stuff instead of marching like the other soldiers were.
Back on subject though, the day of the party we have as a rest day then go to the park around 5pm for something to eat. The park is usually emptier that day as they know there will be an early finish and the usual stuff is not on such as Wishes, the next day we start late but we will also do something the next day. This year we are moving hotels on 31st so we'll check in and then go to the party in the evening.
It is late but it is lovely, not so many people and the cast members make such a huge fuss of the children. We love it and are doing both events this year. I love the parades and characters, they dress up for the event - just the whole thing. It's escapism for us. We are also going to Mickeys Xmas Party as well while we are there. It starts on the 8th and we are going to the first one. DD birthday is the next day and we have booked her into the Bibbidy bobbidy boutique after lunch for a make over.
Going to Disney for us is all about coming back exhausted and making the most of everything there is to do!! Last year DS did not get a chance to go on the train for some reason and so it'll be the first thing we do at the MK this year.0 -

Seaworld has a special thing that does not cost more, you go in as usual and it is an extra, but it is more for kids to go round in cute costumes collecting candy - have a look at their website and you'll see.
There is a Halloween thing going on at Universal (way too scary for me and I'd not take an under 16 year old) but that has to be paid for too, as does the one at the Magic Kingdom. It does not matter if you have tickets for the parks or not, they are special events and so need extra tickets for admission. The parks (certainly MK) closes early those days and you can only get in if you have the special wristband so bear that in mind if you want a longer day out. Check the admission times first.
Will be nice to see HPW done up for Halloween!!

Sorry forgot to add, yes, 24th from Gatwick. We get the later Virgin flight and are booked to go into the V room first. Staying at a hotel the night before so really it is only 37 days until we go on holiday0 -
It sounds a bit sad but get yourselves a holiday diary.
Go over to the Disney website and if you are staying in a Disney hotel make a note of all the magic hours and plan, plan, plan now before you go. Everything that you want to do, plan it now. Go over to The Dibb and find out the must sees. We are going to Celebration to sit around the lake one morning and then have lunch in the Market Cafe.
Make a note in the diary of all the dates for the Halloween and Xmas parties as the MK will close early that day so go somewhere else. Find out when Fantasmic is on as it is not on every day, just a few times a week. The more information you are armed with the more you can do while there. Last time I used to plan our day the night before - my husband says he hates me telling him what we are doing all the time but really, he would be lost without me organising everything so well
we are going to The Boardwalk one day to get a family bike and have ride around there, if we have time we will hire an electric cart to have a ride around Wilderness Lodge (costs around $70 for the day 9am-10pm). You can get Disney buses and Coaches to the resorts if you have Disney Tickets. There is also a nightly Pageant on the lakes around Disney that have barges that all lit up, it is not advertised and I have never seen it so I'll be doing this. We want to go to Narcoosies one night and watch Wishes from the Veranda. All things we probably would otherwise not have done or found out about.
I have all but a few days planned now and these have been left free to jiggle water parks dates around. Likewise I know where we are going shopping, I know what I am buying (new Ugg Australia Outlet opened in Prime BTW!!! Yippee, top of the list), all our dinner reservations are done. I have maps for the I-ride trolley. Even if going to the restaurants in DTD make a booking because we had to wait 2 hours in DTD for our Rainforest Cafe time on our last day, if you want to eat at 12 then book it for 12. We tried to get in at 12 and had to wait until 2 last time but it was our last day and we did not make the most of it. In hindsight I'd have gone over to MK for a few hours.
Anyhow, I best go shopping. I could talk all day about my trip, most of my friends have never been before and I feel like I am rubbing their noses in it by going on and on and on about it but I am just so excited about it I want to tell everyone. If anyone cares I'll post up my itinerary. I've not only told my 'real life' friends about the outfits, they'd not even have a clue what there is to be excited about, they will see in the picture. *sigh* One of them even said to me 'ooh, Disney, I could not imagine anything worse for a holiday, I've no interest in going there'.....:eek::eek: :rotfl::rotfl:
And my other friend said 'so you'll be on the rides every day for 3 weeks' and I said 'yes, every day'. :rotfl:
Oh and aparently Toy Story Mania is the most popular ride at HS, get there as early as you can for a Fastpass ticket else you'll not get on.
Sad but true fact.... I have an entire day planned to make sure we et on that ride at least twice. I am planning to queue early for EMH, leg it to the fastpass machine at the rope drop and get a FP, then queue, then get on again with the FP. Even though DS gets a GAC I am not planning it for that ride in case it is just too busy. They have been saying on the dibb that queues are 2-3 hours long..... It had better be good!!
I have not actually admitted that to any of my 'real life' friends.0 -
I stayed at the Quality Inn Plaza on I-Drive in February 2009 and they were just starting their room renovations. I have just found on their website that post refurb they have been upgraded to AAA three diamond rating and are rebranding on 1st October 2010 as the 'Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando'.
Does anybody think there will be a price rise to go along with the new brand and rating?
I am looking to return to the Q.i.P. in May 2011 and have found some good prices on Travel Republic. I tend to book last minute but am wondering whether this time it might be sensible to book early before the rebrand.
On a side note are Travel Republic reliable? I'm only booking the room through them which is currently £452 total for 2 people for 16 nights (02/05/11 - 18/05/11). I am slightly concerned this is a 'too good to be true rate' as other quotes I obtained were in the region of £1450 for the same room and same dates.

I would love to see your itinerary blue monkey - having never been before I have no clue as to what I shouldn't miss I have booked up a fair few things, but knowing what there is will be very helpful! - this maybe a personal question - but at least it will give me an idea - how much spending money are you allowing for the trip?0
