They definitely seem to be on their own little world my sister was refused and one of the points was her being able to walk unaided now considering at the time she was just after a botched operation and could not walk due to an incorrect pin being in her foot that was stabbing her muscle when she put any pressure on it and it was catching the other pins making a revolting pop grind noise yuck!

Edit to add about my sister they cant operate because of the damage and need to wait at least a year possibly more before they remove the pin and if they cant replace it due to damage she may loose her foot.

 That's so so terrible! The government are so quick to throw their money at the undeserving. Never work a day in your life for a none genuine reason and you'll go far ;):p

The good thing is that most appeals are being turned down because they are fair and objective.

Very few people are unable to do every job.

No longer will every claimant be written off:beer:

You have to pay to become a member of this site. CAB can help fill in your forms for free.

It's only a small amount though and the advice is very good. Although I am a mod there so maybe I'm biased.

CAB can help, but I've heard some bad things about them lately, I'd go to DIAL instead if there is one nearby.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

And my dad has hallucinated from pain with his back he has 2 vertebrae missing and another is just a wedge and they said they could not confirm the injury. they didn't even look at the x-ray he gave up.

I am so sorry about your poor family - something certainly stinks with these tests.

What we do know for a fact is that the government have put *targets* to reduce the size of people off sick - and many people working for ATOS *must* have succumb to pressure when their 0 points become 21 points when looked at properly.

Most objective people will not fall for the propaganda though Essy mate.

Going from 0 points to 21 points - and all the other similar stories - just shows that these ATOS medicals are some sort of a con.

You are comparing sick people with well people and putting them in competition with each other for jobs.

Somebody with mental health problems or people with pain difficulties has not got the mental acuity to even do data entry - I use to manage clerical staff doing this sort of work - so should know what I'm talking about.

It is not about writing people off - the DWP don't care a fig about you if you are not claiming - obviously it is all about taking away claimants legal rights to benefit and cutting IB numbers.

If anyone has a problem with the CAB they should bring it to the attention of the session superviser and fill out a complaint form. In my experience the CAB are fantastic and run mostly by volunteers with very little funding. I do not think that isolated incidents that you have heard is a true reflection of the wonderful work that the CAB do with no charge to their clients. Each CAB bureau is run independently, following the guidelines of headoffice.

Alwaysonthego is correct, the CAB on the whole do a very good job and if you have heard bad things it may not be due to the CAB but the people who have vistied the CAB.

I think im going to go down the Tax Credits route...
When i started this job a few weeks ago my contract said 15 hours, but i went into work yesterday and asked about getting just 1 more hour to make it 16 for Tax Credits, and thats fine.
However, when i looked at the shifts im doing - it comes to 14 hrs 45 mins - they obv cant add up properly ( and that with the extra hour - should be 16 with their calculations)

so i dont know now, need to do 16 but dont know if i can go and ask for another 1 hr 15 mins - as ive not long started this job and already got 1 more hour! hmmm

I rang tax credits and they said doesnt matter what im contracted to its what i 'usually' do - can do more one week, less another! and as its Asda, there is always lots of overtime going ive heard so can bump my average up easily as im not far behind it.

Would it be ok? dont want to get into trouble to claim something i shouldnt but hmmm dont know now!
