Well, no answer when I knocked on the door and 12.40am this morning on my return from work, but I did as suggested and left a note to ask her to move the rubbish which was still there. It was still on the door when I left this morning for work at 7.30am, but hopefully she will see it.

Knock on her door at 7.30am.

It's more polite than doing it at midnight (which can be intimidating)

Move it right infront of her door everytime you pass it. She may get the message. Dirty sod that she is!

If you don't start work until Midday at the weekend, go around then. Maybe she has been ill so couldn't do it. I would be friendly and approach her and if she does not give any good reasons, complain to her landlord and complain until they get bored and evict her. Try the council environmental health dept. But first, be pleasant and rational and have a friendly word with her.

I've recently had a similar experience - the neighbours in the flat opposite put their bin bags outside their door - sometimes they are there for days (mostly they are removed quite quickly).

They are young and capable and were in and out of the flat so I knew that they were okay but they just walked straight past the bag

On the occasion when it was left for days I just kept spraying air freshener on the landing whenever I left the house, I think they took the hint and removed it. I was contemplating whether or not to take it out for them but it was moved before I made up my mind.

She might have gone away and forgotten to take it out when she left.

She might have had an accident or gone missing or something.

I'd knock whenever you pass her door, whatever time it is, and ask if she's ok, since you've [STRIKE]smelled[/STRIKE] seen the bag there for over a week and hadn't heard her moving around. Then ask if she's seen any mice or rats as you've heard rumours from other neighbours that they're rife at the moment because of the hot weather and they can smell rubbish from further away.

Have heard her arriving home last last wkend since the rubbish was out, so she must just walk past it too. I'll try and find out how to contcat her landlord, and will knock on the door again tomorrow morning, it's getting to the stage where I'd rather just move it, but I feel like that will make her just do it more and more, as the rubbish fairy will take it away. :/

I would of said if there isnt anything wrong with her etc, if you are sure of that, then pick it up and put it right outside her door, not only will the smell seep through to her house, she'll trip over it on her way out.

Perhaps she has gone on holiday and put it there meaning to take it with her to drop off at the bins, and forgot
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
