:hello:Hello!
Just looking in while I am seeking out recipes using up courgettes! I have already had to give some away! The french beans are also doing well but tomatoes are struggling.
My upright freezer got left open for a while  and now I have to find up ways of using up all the veg in there. I had to throw away what little meat there was and ice cream - not worth the risk but think the veg and fruit should be ok. Lunch is a mixed veg curry (using up some of the courgettes with runner beans, swede and potato). Tonight will be pasta bake with yet more veg hidden away in the tomato sauce. I've also got 2 courgette and tomato bakes prepped (1 for the freezer) It is time to defrost that freezer I think!
Hope everyone is ok, swine flu is doing the rounds here but so far no one is too seriously ill thank goodness. We are hoping to avoid it this side of our holiday to spain, fingers crossed.
I am on some new painkillers and so far they are working really well so life is looking up!:j Our church has started up a support group for 11 to 25 year olds with ME/CFS in our area and I am one of the helpers- although all I seem to have done so far is make lots of cookies!:D
(((hugs))) to all who could use one
Thriftlady - Have a lovely time in France! Sounds like a wonderful holiday.

Afternoon everyone
Hello catznine :hello: I was only thinking of you the other day, and wondering how you are, along with Shez and a couple of othersDidn't know if I'd missed you because I'm a tad erratic of late. Glad the pain meds are working :j
Well I have some OS to report :T DS's laundry is all done and ready to go with me later. He's recovering well from the swineflu now, but then again he's young and strongI would also like a drumroll to announce that the blackhole of terror ( commonly called the cupboard under the stairs!) is now dusted, cleaned, organised into nice wooden boxes and only contains truly useful and required stuff :rotfl:Might not be much to the flylady ladies, but to me that's quite an achievement. Have to confess I'm a devil for hanging onto superficially *useful* or *cute* stuff
Must dash now, but Happy Hols to those going away. FE everything crossed for you. (hugs) to any poorlies. Enjoy the rest of the day. CM xYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Afternoon all.
I really ought to be in the kitchen washing the items of clothing I have to do separately by hand - there's a growing collection of such items in the wash-bin. I shall do it once I've done this post, I think.
Racking my brains as to what to do for dins - we're out of potatoes til we can get to the market on Saturday. Maybe pizza tonight - I still have one HM base in the freezer - and probably nut loaf with rice tomorrow. Funny, but typing it out helps to organise my thoughts.:o
I must also make sure I have a good supply of cleaning materials ready for when I start getting canine guests (in case of little "accidents"). I have Stardrops and vinegar, of course - is there anything else special I should be getting? Penny-dog was always clean in the house, as is Molly, so I haven't had to deal with this in the past; I do feel it's best to be prepared, though.
Right, I'm off to tackle that washing.
((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Ello everyone
First time posting on the daily's but have been looking for past two weeks. Just wanted to say to NoahsPennilessMummy re the migraines, not sure how old you are, but when I reached my 40's I started getting migraines a lot, they turned into what they call aura's where you smell yucky smells all the time, mine is smoke. It drove me nuts then I read some stuff on t'internet and found that coffee and OJ can be a trigger. I cut them both out of my daily diet and the migraines went away, may not apply to you but worth trying. I drank coffee since early teens and it never affected me until my 40's, stress and lack of sleep as well as time of the month can be triggers but it could also be something you've been eating or drinking before the migraines came on.
Nimbo add some cocoa powder to your muffin mix, that's how I get lovely dark chocolatey muffins, I just posted on the meal plans for 13th july thread some recipes for muffins, just made Black Forest Muffins with some cherries from the freezer and chocolate chips and cocoa of course and they came out lush.

Afternoon everyone
CM - Glad your DS is on the mend :T
At work, but haven't got much motivation  Still only 1 1/2 hours to go :j Paella for dinner tonight.
I finish earlier tomorrow as DD breaks up from school at 2pm. Then it's 6 weeks off (for her not me), between DH, FIL, MIL and myself we have all 6 weeks covered :T Though none at the same time - never mind you can't have it all.
Need to pull my finger out at home - it is a wreck, and I'm desperate to get back into knitting, but I can't when I'm sitting in a pigsty  With college looming again in September, and 2 exams to take in December  I need to crack on and sort out some kind of failproof routine (maybe inventing a 36 hour day).
Have a great afternoon everyone (((((hugs)))))
ETA: Welcome Lemon Verbena - must have a looksy at your recipes - thanks!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Just back from hairdressers and pile of ironing complete..at least I can tick something off today:D
Lemon Verbena.....I will be 40 in March...I have never had migraines before this bout started about 8 weeks ago..apparently once you are nearly 40 your oestrogen levels alter to start preparing for the menapause and that can trigger them. I have had one hanging over me all day and I know it is going to start soon. There are only one type of tablet which take it away..Triptans...I dont know if anyone here has had them but they are awful....make your head feel like it is bursting and it makes me feel like I am having a stroke which panics me a bit:o
BTW have printed your cake and bisc recipes from meal plan thread...lavender biscuits sound yum.
TiredMum thank you for your compliment...it is hard work isnt it.....but worth it:D0
