I have loads of 2p and 1p coins in the jar , but not enough to buy a very long copper tape, is it legal to surround my new transplanted veg with 2 and 1p coins in order to get these evil enemies of the state off my patch?

The queen head can finally be useful:D

Yes, it is legal, but have you got enough to buy slug pellets?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

it only illegal if the slug manages to deface the coin and you knew the slug was going to do it,

so if the slug accidentally drops a hammer on the coin and damages the coin you and the slug have not broken the law however if you told the slug to attack it with a hammer and it defaces the coin then you have broken the law, if you are caught by the law admit to it as the slug will try to strike a deal in return for immunity :rotfl:

I use 15mm copper tubing. you can also get it in 10mm diameter coils. It is most effective.

This is a great idea, I've never thought of this and really glad I saw this thread.
Last night I went out to check my 4 week old sons onion patch, it had two shoots at the weekend so I was hoping for more. When I got out there, no shoots but 2 fat slugs eating through Olivers onions. The cheek of it, basically eating through our little boys retirement onions!
I threw them across the garden because I couldn't face doing anythng to harsh, but the copper idea sounds great, because it's then up to them if they get electocuted!

Air Slug... I've been sending the slugs on a flying holiday every single day :)

Must admit I havent seen as many as usual... I do think they learn from putting slug pelletts down and if you miss a few days they take their time to come back...

I will have to get some copper pipe now :)
