Item not received after 8 days

If it's a private seller I wait 2 weeks before emailing to see what's occurring. If they reply I wait at least another week and send one more email before I start any complaints process.
I bid on and won two belts in the first week of June and they both arrived about a week ago, having taken a month to get to me. (They were both posted less than 48 hours before I received them!)
Ebay is simply not the highest priority in people's lives I guess, and it must be hard to work up the motivation to go and queue up in the PO if your item didn't sell for very much money.
They both seemed like nice girls and I got a bargain both times so they were both left positive feedback. I just left out any mention of quick dispatch! I didn't bother with DSRs because I almost never do.
I think some people are quick to start the process, and some people having received a refund would just consider the item's arrival as an added bonus but most people wouldn't so long as the seller had kept in touch, and wasn't unpleasant.
I send everything by First Class Recorded, or Special Delivery if that is warranted but I noticed last time I listed some items for sale that the estimated date of delivery varied on items with the same postage. I have one business day set as a default and never change it.0 -
The items been sent apparantly but just never turned up. The others have all been resolved but if this one goes missing il be fuming as it really is a bargain and i can see there being trouble trying to get my money back.
Im on me way to the local sorting office now to speak to them when i pick another parcel up.0 -
shauniebabe, if you paid by paypal on ebay you won't have a problem getting your money back. You have 45 days in which to start an item not received chargeback in paypal and if seller can't prove item was delivered to you then you get a full refund. Just stay in touch with your seller.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How many will reimburse the seller if the item turns up after they (buyer) has won the paypal claim?
And would the seller refund RM if theyd made a claim?0 -
Wasnt there a royal mail strike which could have affected it,0

I posted out an item on the 7th July and the seller emailed on the 8th to say he hadnt received it. On Monday the 13th July he started a claim against me

Have kept in contact with him the whole way through and asked him to wait 10 days, just in case its due to some strikes that ive heard about. But he said he wants his money back.
Ive never received a chargeback before and im a seller with over 2200 positive feedback.
Why do i feel that hes had the item and is pulling a fast one. To cap it all, i didnt post the item as i would have sent it recorded. The person who posted it for me thought he was saving me money

I heard Ness from Gavin and Stacey when I read that lol0 -
Ok its been 12 days since i won the item and 4 days since i received the reply to my email asking where the item is, surely 12 days is sufficient time to post the item0
