Hi Lisa. I had treatment at that clinic with my first child and it was the most degrading and horrible fertility clinic I ever used (and I've used a few believe me!). I was under another fertility specialist who was on holiday mid IVF cycle so he sent me there to finish the cycle. On my very first visit, I was told to go into a room and strip from the waist and wait for the doctor. There was no modesty blanket, and I never met the man first fully clothed. He came in, shoved a dildo cam into me, turned to my husband and said, "there's no point in doing IVF, look her ovaries are pathetic". Barely addressed a word to me. We ended up converting the cycle to an IUI as I had a couple of viable eggs, and to our great fortune we were successful in achieving a pregnancy, but I feel very little warm feelings to the place despite this. The doctor in question is the very litigious head honcho, and my own fertility specialist when we were trying for a subsequent child told me that my medical records from that cycle were completely normal, and had I continued with the stimulating drugs for an extra few days I would easily have had sufficient follies for an egg collection.
Obviously Panaroma apologized and retracted their allegation that he fudges his statistics by refusing to complete treatments for women who he thinks might not succeed on IVF, so I am not suggesting that, just recounting my own experience there.
Hi Nicki.
Thanks for letting me know. The reason we are going to ARGC is because they are specialists in Immune disorders which (aside from having no tubes!) is my fertility issue, I have MTHFR and a protein C deficiency.
We are going have a consultation and see how we feel from there. It isn't ideal as we are in the Midlands and they are obviously in London but they are apparently the best for what we need so travel I must.
And if them not taking on patients unless they reckon they'll get a good result was true, they wouldn't touch me with a ten foot pole!
I'll update after my consultation, could be a while a they have a huge waiting list.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Having a huge wobble today. My boobs are suddenly less sore, so I've convinced myself this is another failing pg. Am trying not to panic but it's really hard. I just keep thinking forward to the scan on Friday, to the bit where she wiggles the ultrasound around but can't find anything clear so I have to join the queue of desperate women waiting for an internal scan, hoping against hope that their babies are OK. Three times I've been in that queue, and the outcome always the same.0

How many weeks are you Sarah? The sore boobs do gradually diminish after the first few weeks.
I really hope everything's OK for you this time - your run of bad luck has surely run its course, fingers crossed anyway.0
