Well, request for HSG denied.
FS doesn't see clinical need. I asked if I could have one as a private patients, and still no.
That doesn't sound right to me. Its a very valid test and I'm surprised she said no if you are paying for it yourself. Is there any way you could get a second opinion? If you go private does it have to be reffered from your FS? What other tests have you had done? (Sorry for all the questions - I'm very frustrated on your behalf)Deposit savings £8,000/£25,000£14,000 by 31/12/110 -
Well, request for HSG denied.
FS doesn't see clinical need. I asked if I could have one as a private patients, and still no.
She said to carry on with the Clomid and if no luck in a couple of months, to make another appointment and see what else she might be willing to give me/try.
I've been doing a lot of crying today.

Any news from anyone else? Have you cracked yet and tested early QQ?
Not all places offer it, that might be the reason why, I am a private patient under Guy's and St Thomas's in london and the chap I have done a hycosy a few years ago and was happy with those results.
Have u had a hycosy? You need to ask why it's a no, it might be too early in their procedures to do it, it could be funding, truthfully it could be any number of reasons x
I'm surprised they said no if u were willing to pay, what trust are u with?
Hope u r ok xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Clomis throes u emotionally bigtime xx hang in there xx#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Hi Toniq - yes, I am rather an emotional mess, I don't know whether it's the Clomid or just the general infertility..another fun month ahead anyway.
++++
I had a lap and dye in 2008 - no probs id'd then.
I was referred to this FS in Sept - I asked then for another Lap and Dye and she said there was no clinical need.
When I asked re HSG as an NHS patient, her secretary says the FS says there is no clinical need for one and when I asked if I went as a private patient, it's still a no, they don't do them for private patients.
There's no point arguing, I'll ask again at my next appointment in 2-3 months or so. I'll ask if there's anything else I can have, and maybe at that point we'll start thinking of whether to shell out ££££s for IUI (despite its low likelihood of success for us).
In my PCT, it's the same FS that heads up the NHS unit as leads the private unit..so asking for a 2nd opinion would get me precisely nowhere. I think I'd need to go 'out of county' - Bristol or Brum to get a different team. Maybe this summer, if it comes to it.0 -
There will be Private Ivf clinics in ur area, it doesn't have to be attached to an NHS place, Bupa for starters have private clinics, I know alot about london clinics but not up your way xx sorry xx
If the hycosy was fine they might think there is no need, I'm seeing my chap in a few weeks im going to mention the hsg and see what eh says to me, im a sucker for having every test going xx
It is a hard long slog, we r all on this rollerocaster with u chickpea xxxxxxxxx
I'm not sure if they let u change consultant if u r NHS, which is a shame as u need to feel comfortable and feel ur needs r being met xx#JusticeForGrenfell0 -
Brilliant and well done CedricKerry, thats great news.
Well, AF has reared her head again. Big time. I doubt Ive any blood left! I feel carp.

I've spent £1200 for a trip in April, so that'll make sure I get pg:cool:I had a lap and dye in 2008 - no probs id'd then.
I do realise it's 3 years ago, and things may have changed somewhat, but maybe the problem lie somewhere else?
IUI may be a good idea, it'll bypass cm and a lot of male issue:)liloandstitch wrote: »Well, AF has reared her head again. Big time. I doubt Ive any blood left! I feel carp.

Doesn't that check the tubes too? If there were no probs then, then I don't think HSG would change things:huh:

Hi QQ - My tubes were deemed OK in 2008 - but it was a bit of a coincidence getting pg 4 months after the lap and dye...maybe the dye bit flushed out my tubes just enough? Maybe they're gummed up again in the menatime. I don't know, I can only guess.
Re IUI, the FS wouldn't recommend it precisely because there are no male issues - My husband's tests were all AOK.
I didn't know it could help with CM issues though...interesting. That may be my prob.
Right - this month, the one thing I am going to do id DRINK LOTS OF WATER! I hate doing it, but let's see if it helps!
______
Lilo - Sorry about AF, right there with you. It'll be gone soon, and then there's another month.0 -

DH's count has improved though, with Clomid, the morphology is still at 1%, and motility is still low, but twice the count should mean double:cool:0 -
Can I question you all on BDing? How often do you do it around the time of ov?
I always thought that the general thought was that every day was too often, and that every other day would catch the egg fine.
Now I've googled it it seems to say that the current thinking is that every day, as long as sperm count is OK, is fine, and probably preferable. We usually do it every day but this month we tried every other day to see if it helped. What do you all do?0 -
We do the clear out then leave a day for it build up then every other day, that's what we were advised xx
My consultants secretary called he has a spot to see me next wednesday, excited but scared, not sure exactly what his fees are gonna be but have the money too one side xxxx#JusticeForGrenfell0
