hey people just popping by to say hi again, sending happy thoughts to you. well twas back at my slimming class and thats another half a pound off it may be slow but its in the right direction so im very happy chappy and i have lost the weight the doc wanted me to. the frustrating part is that the doc told me to lose weight for feb so i though i would do it and of course here i am with 4 months to go and already lost the weight, my dh was like right tomoz u need to phone to get a quicker appointment you have done your work. i kinda agree. my only thinking is if i lose more it will be better for me, would love to lose a stone, and i lost the first half a stone tbh very easily and done it in 7 weeks. so its like a pound a week. my worry is we have xmas coming up and im scared i pile the pounds back on and then come feb i will weigh the same
arrghhh frustrated!!!

Hi,
I've posted a few times on the trying for a baby thread but I'm looking for some experiences of this.
Just had results of a day 21 progesterone test which should I am not ovulating. I am 29 years old and been off the pill for 10 months. To say I am shocked and upset is an understatement. Unfortunately I left My GP's very upset and did not think to ask the questions I should have. She has referred my to a gynacologist but in the meantime I just have no clue what to do.
Has anyone else here experienced this and gone on to have a baby? Can I get help on the NHS for this?
Sorry if this makes no sense, not even sure what I am asking really. Just desparate for a baby and now that feels like it may never happen........0 -
I personally havent any experiance of this but a friend of mine was told she wasnt ovulating after similar tests to you and she was referred to gyne who did a few more tests including ones to make sure her tubes weren't blocked. she was then put on a course of clomide and is now 28 weeks pregnant x
Another friend of mine this didnt work for and she went on to have ivf she now has a gorge little boy
I really hope they get to the bottom of things for you xIt is better to stay silent and be thought a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.

Hi Juicygirl
I was 20 when I started TTC and after 12 months was sent for tests. Revealed I had PCOS and wasn't ovulating. Just as I was being sent for a test to check my tubes (after 18 months ttc) I fell pregnant. My little boy is 7 now.
Tried for number 2 from 4 months after his birth. Had 6 rounds of Clomid and only one made me ovulate. Moved on to Puregon injections and ovulated on all three of my cycles , fell pregnant on my third and final round and my little girl is now 9 weeks old.
There is plenty that can be done to help, it has been a long and hard time but has been worth it. The TTC 12 months plus is a fab board with some wonderful women who will help you no end.
Good luckGive me the boy until he's seven and i'll give you the man.0 -

Hey Juicygirl,
My first progesterone tet showed I wasn't OV'ing even though I knew I was through temping. Turns out it was just done a day or two too early. I would have thought your GP would have considered this rather than packing you straight off to a Gyne?
It's very common not to OV every month - it's called an anovulatory cycle. I've only had one in the 19 cycles we've been trying but i'm quite regular so if it can happen to me....
I would see if you can request a phonecall to your GP. Make a list of all the questions you didn't ask that you think you should have.
Have you considered charting or using a fertility monitor? They will show if you're OV'ing.

Thanks for all your responses. Think my doc sent me cos my cycles have been irregular too and she could see how upset I was. I suffer from stress/anxiety related to my job that I can't seem to shake, although I am going to make more of an effort with this.
I am currently using ov test strips on which I got positive results on days 15,16,17 on the same cycle as the doc took the blood test. Am I right in saying I had the hormone surge but still must not have ovulated?
Is the fertility monitor different to this???
Thank you so much, my OH/family have been supportive but they have no idea what to say to help x0
