Nice one. Booked for 10:00am on Monday December 29th at the Bristol donor centre.
  • I've been a regular blood donor since I was old enough to donate. I'm booked next for 4th Dec!

They way I see it is this, it's not a bad hour out of the day. After all (normally) you get to natter to someone for half hour or so whilst the blood is being taken. And then you get a free cuppa, crisps and biscuits! And if you're lucky a sticker and a nice keyring.

And one day you might be the one needing blood!

Can you give blood if you are on medication for high blood pressure? I am taking Amlodipine and Bendroflumethiazide and I think this affects the ability to clot? Have never given blood due to not knowing the answer to this.

Best I can suggest is for you to give them a phone, different rules for different drugs.

Good session today if a short one, my count is down again and I was only able to give a double.

There was a bit of drama when the nurses discovered that someone had pinched a bag of sweets, all was resolved when the doctor bought a replacement and informed on the culprit.

When there's no money left for presents you can still give the gift of life !!
