Where do you get your tyres and how much do you pay?

I've always found the Budget tyre place on Stevenson Road very good. Helpful, reasonably priced and good service. Never had a problem with the tyres they put on either.0

If you're buying a tyre with 50% wear on it (minimum tread = 2mm), and paying £25, after rooting round to find a matching pair, how much are you saving if you can easily buy a decent brand new tyre for £50 fitted off blackcircles?

camskill.co.uk sell tyres from budget to premium, I've used them twice, about to order 4 Goodyears from them, beats blackcircles on price like for like.0

I also use Camskill.co.uk - I have a civic type R and so need good tyres - got some Falken FK452's off there for about £50 each and they have exceptional reviews - very pleased with them.0

Any decent part worn specialist place will have hundreds of the same tyre, so getting a matching pair/set will be no problem.
£50 for a matching pair of Continentals, fitted etc that will last a few years or £50 per budget tyre that will last 12 months...0 -

I'd go for quality branded part worns over budgets anyday , at least you know the part worns will keep you on the road in the wet ( lots of budget tyres are nicknamed ditchfinders for good reason), stop you in an emergency etc.
When I bought my car it had a set of Linglong's on the front which were ok in the dry but I had no confidence in them in the wet , I had a Continental Premium contact with 6mm tread on the spare so I bought an identical one off Ebay to match it and had them changed at a local tyre place for £10.
The difference in handling shows how poor the budgets really were.
I used to work for someone who had budgets on their leased vehicles , on one I was driving the tread peeled away from the tyres on both fronts after a 35 mile motorway trip at legal speeds , and a van driven by a friend left the road on a corner at 40 mph and ended upside down in a field as the tyre came off the rim .0 -
I always find www.blackcircles.co.uk to be cheapest with fitting included.
my car takes 205/45 R17
cheapest at etyres is £78.90
Cheapeast at Blackcircles is £55.38 (Thats £92 cheaper over 4 tyres)
For premium range i always us Pirelli PZero Nero
at etyres they are £116 each
at Blackcircles they only £104 (£48 over 4 tyres)
Although saying this www.camskill.co.uk
can supply budgets for £39.22 each
and Pirelli PZero Nero for £92.50 each
But this is only delivered, you will have to take them and get them fitted
which still works out cheaper than both of the above hence why i will use Camskill when my next 4 need changing
2007 Comping challenge -> £00.00 <-Typical luck!:mad:0 -
Blackcircles online and Protyre.
Around £45 per wheel fitted for mid range performance tyres.Happy chappy0 -
Remember that the tyres on your car are the only contact between the metal box you (and your loved ones) are in and the tarmac.
Modern cars keep getting heavier so those few square centimeters of contact patch have more to do. I always say that the one thing you should never ever scrimp on are tyres.
On the subject of part worns, you have to understand how a tyre is constructed and the job it does. Not only does the tread wear, but the carcass of the tyre is subject to the bending of the tyre and it goes round and massive flexing as it impacts on road imperfections. An under inflated tyre will flex more as it goes over bumps, so the carcass of the tyre will break down more quickly.
I'm not saying they are always bad, but just giving a factor for people to consider.0
