Madmac - Polkadot beat me to it, but hopefully his doctor has said to go back if there is no improvement. I think they say to give 2 to 3 weeks for the pills to work, and if they don't there's others to try. My dad tried 8 before he found the one that worked, I think OH was a similar number - hope your OH finds his quicker than that! And that you stay reasonably sane whilst he does! x

    Hi girls,
Lovely, shiny new thread... how cool is that! It's like a new beginning to an old meme.. some new hope. Hope it works for all of us :)

AF is still late, 8 days now (due a week ago yesterday), up until about yesterday I had no symptoms of anything at all, which really makes me feel down because I figure if I were preg I'd know it by now (countless tests show BFN, last one was on Sunday I think). Yesterday though, I got really sore nipples, and they're sore again today. Also, my face has broken out in spots which never happens, but then again I've just started exercising too so it could be that.

I'm going to give it another week and if nothing then I'm going to call my GP. I always have 29-31 day cycles, I've kept data for the last 2 years and have only used condoms during that time so no birth control issues there.. there's just no explanation for AF being so late. I can imagine it being put back a few days to stress (I was on holiday for most of this cycle anyway) but 8 days? Either I'm preg (doubtful I think) or something is wrong.

Baby dust to all and thanks for reading xxx

IC = some cut down version of a pregnancy test?

    http://www.path.org/files/htup-IC_striptest_Pregnancy.pdf

My guess is that they are the tests that are a strip only (aka "ebay cheapies") which are more sensitive than their plastic coated counterparts (the likes of which you buy in Boots, Superdrug etc)
  • Gena - my friend does know and I do think that's it to some extent. But also she's got a few pg friends and does stuff with them and for her it must be much more rewarding to chat to them about the niggles and things as they can understand.

Greenr - I *think* IC HPT is Internet Cheapy HPT. Edited to add - ooh I was kinda right but annie beat me to it, its ImmunoChromatographic HPT. So a tiny stick which soak up the wee and gives you a line...

Annie - sounds like you're doing the sensible thing giving it another week. I too would be bamboozled by no AF and BFNs if you're so regular.

And becs - go get him! If you've got all the ewcm it would be a terrible shame to waste it ;)

stickybabydust and nighty night all xx
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

Annie, sometimes I find just thinking about why I'm late stresses me and AF stays away even longer! So try not to worry too much about it, but might be worth seeing your doctor just to get it checked hun if you find yourself feeling any more peculiar, x

Polkadot and Gena - thank you for the support. I am doing OK with him, I just find it so hard to see him very down and unable to do much. He feels a real failure with everything at the moment and I have only just started to realise I cannot pull him out of it on my own! So we are three weeks in to the meds and he will see the doctor again next week, I presume to check it is helping. :o

Unsurprising then that he currently has a bit of trouble BDing, so I fully sympathise with you becs on that score ;)

Nunnygirl, watching Life on ITV3 and instantly thought of you! See, we might be virtual friends but we still invade each others lives just like if we were real :rotfl:

Ah MadMac I hope things take a turn for the better soon with oh. It must be so hard for both of you. Is he having any kind of counselling at all to help?
Are you feeling any better today?

    Just a quickie MadMac (;))

Prozac can take quite a few weeks to "kick in" so make sure OH gives it a chance. It was a lifesaver for me.

*quickly scurries off cos DH needs attention;)*

Thanks guys, we're taking it one step at a time - but talk of the wedding seems to perk him up no end! How weird is that, most men would just grunt and pretend to be interested!

Becs, he was offered counselling but the doctor very wisely detected that he isn't the most chatty and open of men (see above for the exception!!) and so didn't push it.

Ooh smartie, you lucky, lucky thing... :D xx

Ah well that's good MadMac that there's something you can both get your teeth into that gives you something positive to look forward to.
