Trying For a Baby III

Hi, I am new to all this but wanted to know if anyone had been in the same boat as me. My little boy is 3 next week and I fell really quickly for him - within about 6 weeks. However I came off the pill in March and still no sign. I try to chart my fertile days but I have been on the pill since I was 18 (now 30) and obviously didn't get into a cycle first time trying. My cycle has gotten progressively longer each month and I'm now up to 34 days.
Maybe I shouldn't worry but just wondered if anyone else had found it took longer second time around and was worrying that irregular cycles can be sign of a problem.
I don't mean to offend anyone who has been trying for a long time for the first one, I'm not meaning to be selfish and I'm not ungrateful for what I have - also sure it probably will happen but can't get that niggle out of my head that it wasn't like this before!
Lots of love to everyone who is trying x0 -
Leopardlady I have a friend who's just done her first trimester. She also picked up swine flu but is doing fine now. It really is just another type of flu. Again, Madmac is right...it's more media hype. It's only got everyone confussed because of the time of year so they hadn't yet figured out how the last strain would mutate (or perhaps they had and the strain did something different)...and the few people who did pass away where it was said to be swine flu, all had something else going on in addition. It weakens the immune system so that you are prone to get pneumonia and such.
Lots of TLC and yummy vitamins.
jacqhale welcome. There are a few of us trying for number 2 and if memory serves, even 3. My DS has just turned 3 and I'm still struggling this time around. The gynae has called it "secondary fertility issues" and I've been referred on (first app 24/08), but having said that, you'll pick up real quick on here that sometimes there's no problem at all and it's just timing, so you really should see a doctor.
In the meantime...my friends in RL seem to love me lots more since I found this thread because I can come here to vent about ttc rather than bending their ears out of shapeso jump on the bandwagon...the girls here do have the gift of the gab;)

Morning everyone
I didn't manage to get a lot of sleep but had a phone call at 9:20 this morning. SIL2B is fine, she's just having a nightmare with her MIL, nothing too serious. We might be kidnapping a niece for a week because of it so that should be fun, just depends if MIL shows her face or not!!!
confuzzled, it's not my actual foof thats bloating!! It's just above there, it's a pain similiar to what I get when AF's due/here

Morning all
Annie - hope you get on alright at the doctors. Interested to know what they say as my last cycle was 75 days (usually between 28 & 33 days). I never bothered going to the drs because I have been several times in the past when I had not had af for couple of months and they have been useless - I hope you have more luck with yours.
I have got a poorly ds so spending the day at home and trying to get on with some of those jobs I don't have time for when I am at work normally.....it's not going to well at the moment lol
Welcome jacqhale- I am trying for number 3 and it's taking much longer this time - I was very lucky that I fell pg within 6 weeks of trying first and second time, third time and it's been 7 months already.0 -
Back now... I think my dr must think I'm mad
I went in with my charts from FF and showed her how different this months cycle is from the last 5 and she agreed. She suggested a urine test but I explained that I had already done 5 (conservative estimate) and they were neg. She made me pee in a bottle anyway.
I told her I wanted a blood test and we tussled a bit over this as she said they don't normally do it unless the pee test comes back negative (I have to wait for pee test results too! !!!!!!!) I told her that the sticks I used were as sensitive as the ones the diagnostics lab would use as I bought them from NHS supplier FertilityPlan etc etc. Anyway she finally relents and writes me out a thingy for a blood test.
I mentioned to her about the prolactin (thanks Becs!) and she was surprised that I knew that much about the whole process. I blagged my way through, of courseAnyway they're testing for that too.
Results in a week she said. Glad I didn't pee this morning or eat before I went to the docs so I could get this all out the way today. All I can say is, thank god for the internet and you ladies because I would have had no clue otherwise.
Oh and the other silver lining is that if the bloods come back neg and still no AF she is going to refer me to the gynaecologist to look at things more closely. This relieves me to no end!0 -
Thanks guys for all the positive advice, i am not that worried, i understand that most of the stuff in the press is hype, but just hope she gets better, she caught severe chest problems while at school, when everyone else only got a cough, so just a little aware that she has the ability to get worse than most! Oh well, lets hope her OH is looking after her well and we will see her in a couple of weeks
AF has stopped again, so back to complete confusion???

ethelsmum - she tried fobbing me off with a urine test and a "wait and see" type attitude but I was not having it - I was quite firm but polite and insisted that more be done. If you can show evidence of how this is not normal (I had 5 months worth of tempreture data there too so she could see AF arriving and ovulation occurring) this might help. If all else fails, go to another doctor.. don't suffer in silence.0

:T Way to go Annie :T clever girl. I'm glad at least your gp understood the charts. My first gp looked at me hugely puzzled and said "what are these for, and what do you think you achieve from them?"
I am SO sore, my poor little boy has had to suffer with me today as I refuse to even get dressed...nevermind go out. I have a doctors appointment early tomorrow (ran out of my fluoxitine last week:eek:) so I've asked if I can have a Vit B injection tomorrow too and then I'll take DS out somewhere to make it up to him.
For today, he's been a doll and helped me make yoghurt (without a purpose built gadget) and he's helped me start a bucket of wine...thank you snugglepants :A think I might have some tea now and see if I have anything to watch on recorded...wanders off to find hot water giraffe.0
