I'm so sorry Ellie - I hope you don't mind me asking but is your spotting brown or red?

I've had some brown spotting, last lot was at 8 weeks and I had been advised to go to a & e if it happened again (had some at wk 5 too) I got myself so worked up that all my symptoms vanished but had scan and everything was fine.

Why are they making you wait till tomorrow? It seems a bit harsh. Is there an a & e you can go to and see if they'll scan you there and then?

I can't believe your OH is being like that, he is bang out of order. Can he not take your DD to nursery so that you don;t have to cope with her in the train? Or will he pay for a taxi? I really don't think you should be taking that train journey on your own. It's added stress that you just don't need.

Worst thing is yesterday afternoon my sickness just randomly stopped and hasn't returned - so thats not a good sign :(

Hi, just popping back to lurk and saw this post and wanted to say. When i was 7.5 weeks pg, my MS stopped completly, and i felt completly normal and not pregnant. Infact some of the ladies on here may remember me going into a complete panic about it as i had a missed mc with the last pg.

A few days later it returned. Sometimes it can stop for no reason what so ever and all is fine.

But good luck for tomorrow, i really hope it goes well *hug*
  • Thank you for your kind thoughts, i do feel a bit better!

Gil - spotting was actually bright pink mixed with discharge sorry for TMI (not red, but i was anemic throughout my last pregnancy) which i assume means fresher blood. I have had none this morn (so hopefully that is a good sign) but it was very much like the mucus plug from just before DD's birth. It is scaring me as i didn't have any problems with DD so never really had any worries.

I think at the hosp they might hear this all the time so refrain from sending people to A&E, i was told on the phone if i could get in within 15 mins they'd see me, if not wait till tomorrow. But i live too far away (well it's not exactly a million miles away, but transport is a nightmare from here and takes about 1hr 45 :( )

I am very annoyed at OH's response, we were in the middle of a row yesterday when i realised the blood - i told him as i ws shocked, he just looked and went quiet and walked away. He went off to work last night without another word. He came in this morning while i was still half asleep but he did give me a kiss on the cheek which is kind of his way of showing he cares (he is stubborn so the words ''i'm sorry'' barely leave his lips). But when i told him about the scan after i called the early pregnancy assessment ward he went a little off-ish again and said he couldn't come because he'd need to sleep after work.

I think he is having a hard time taking it in as he is broody for another child too, but nothing sinks in until there is a baby either on a scan or actually born with him. I just hope he thinks about it and realises i am probably going through the worries more than he is and i need his support. I'll see what he has to say when he wakes up this afternoon.

Also loitering and just wanted to give huge hugs to ellie.

Re your OH - mine is normally really affectionate, definitely not a macho man lol, but when I had my MC (not saying you are!) in August, he didn't cope very well with it, felt very guilty that he didn't feel more, etc etc, and it was quite tough.

My thoughts are with you - I'm 8+1 so just days apart and had an early U/S privately myself yesterday just to check everything was ok as I was so scared after last time. Morning sickness definitely does come and go though - I have hyperemesis, and even it comes in fits and starts.

    big hugs
  • Hey ladies, looks like i may be here for a while longer.

I am 8.5 wks preg - but spotting all day yesterday and today and bad back pain worse than a usual period so they have booked me in for an US tomorrow morning. It'll be the first - i want to be positive but i feel like my body is just telling me otherwise :( And as they say, trust what your body tells you!

Worst thing is yesterday afternoon my sickness just randomly stopped and hasn't returned - so thats not a good sign :(

:(:(:( I am in big need of a hug!

    no words only (((hugs)))

  • Oh i hope she is ok, she is in the best hands i'm sure! Yes i think get yourself busy doing something is the best idea.

Everyone has kind of put my mind at ease (thank you all), which i think is why i just started feeling nausious and dry heaving non-stop for the last hour or so. I have never been so happy to feel sick, lol!

But more spotting, so i don't know if the sickness is in vain. Grrr! I can't wait to get tomorrow out of the way and just stop feeling in limbo.

  • Ellie-Belle - I just wanted to add that my husband can be a bit like that. I'm just over 12 weeks at the moment with our second and he admitted the other day that it doesn't feel real to him yet, and it won't until I'm huge apparently! He couldn't come to my scan either and I was quite disappointed, although I know he's got no more holiday to take, and he'd just been off with our daughter, so I understand really - he did 'ahh' over the photo, and hopefully that'll make it more real for him!!!
I was moaning about tired I felt last week and he said 'well, you shouldn't yet - not until the end'! Isn't it great that he's suddenly a medical expert! I pointed out that actually exhaustion is a sign in the first trimester, but I'm sure he thinks I'm making it up!
Anyway, I only popped in to send some virtual hugs.... so good luck Ellie-belle, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)
