It makes it worse knowing that she knows you had a mc. I'm sorry but that would have be it from me...I've a vile temper when you get me going...and I'm sorry but that would have!!! ((((hugs))))

MadMac Glad to see your still popping by, it puts our minds at rest! (((hugs)))

Becs thank you, thats what it was...FSH, and I swear she called it an endometriologist-so what does that have to do with NHS thinking Im not worthy of their treatment? See now knowing your story and knowing this was the profession she was referring to just makes me more angry.
Twinklie I am very close to where you say you would be. DF says the more time I spend with her, the more resentful and angry I become. The trouble is, afrikaans people like to believe that EVERYTHING their great grandmothers believed was the truth and they dont like conflict much...so I fear the only way to resolve the situation for me will be to end the relationship. It's been very difficult to make friends in London but I realised today that I dont have a single RL friend in London who is not South African. And I believe i have gained more personal growth from two months on here with all of you than I have in a year with all of my South African "friends"-if I think about it, I dont think these are the people I would befriend if I were still there and I think the only common ground we share is the ground we were born on-thinking of today-another comment she made was how strange she feels when her 18 month old son comes home using english words-because they are afrikaans-and speak the language all the time, despite three british men being present who do not have a grasp of the language. Am I right to think thats rude?

So it seems I am about to embark on a very scary journey-new friends...where to start looking?

CAFC Im glad Becs said what she said about Grandad making room. I wanted to say something earlier today but wasnt sure if you would think it insensitive.
Every death in our family (except mum because it wasnt a "natural" death) was followed by a birth. Shortly after my gran passed, we found out my nephew was on the way...My DS followed grandad by about 9.5 months. Its always been an extra source of comfort for us.

Was going to say "Good Morning" but I see someone beat me to the first post of the day lol!!

Hi Polkadot, I made lots of new friends when I joined an evening class doing something I enjoyed.

I didn't actually go to try and make friends but it just happened. In fact I have a new best friend now (since school).

The whole class are all ages, it's great fun and we have lots of social outings and I meet up with people to do all sorts. It's a singing class and they all sang at the home bit of my wedding last year! I can't imagine my life without these people in it now.

Sometimes you have to do something different to access different social circles.

CAFC its practice :) but it is horrid. Are you sure you didnt though. Some of the girls here never get +opk's, and yet pick up OV in temping or cbfm.
katyj10 thanks hun:) I've not really thought of doing classes-I have a number of things I'd like to learn and skills Id love to fine tune-I guess maybe its time I did them. I find I always end up last in the queue for things I want to do in my house-DF and DS always seem to come first-maybe it is time I did something for me:)

    Morning Girls,
Polka I'd say your "friend" was just clutching at a load of random bits she'd heard to try and make herself look clever! It certainly sounds as if she was out to deliberatly hurt you which is absoloutely awful, I too agree she should be dumped. With friends like that who needs enemies! I agree with the evening class, I decided to do the same when I moved to a new area when still single so I enrolled for a floristry class. I loved it and met some really good friends as well as learning how to do more with a bunch of flowers than just put them in a vase! Bonus!
Cafc it is sad that your grandad didn't meet your little one but he'll always be with you in spirit. It's still one of the hardest things I feel now that my very best friend ever was not around to meet my dh and any children we have. She was such a bubbly vibrant part of my life and I would love her to have been here to share these experiences but I know she's up there somewhere looking out for me. I agree with the others about not knowing for sure about ov. I never picked up even a faint line on an opk which I now believe was because I was testing in the morning.I'm going through the whole wasted cycle thing this month, DH has not been able to keep up this month and we have ended up bd'ing a pathetic twice in the 5 day fertile period so that's me out of the running for sure this month. I am annoyed but can't really say anything as just makes it worse for next month.

CAFC - I'm so sorry for your loss. Although your grandad obviously didn't meet your first little one I'm sure he is with them now, taking care of them up there.

Polka - it sounds like your friend is very jealous and doesn't want you getting pg while she is and 'stealing her thunder' so to speak! She definitely doesn't sound like a good friend - life is to short to spend with people like that!

I have a question re OVIng - if you don't OV would your CM still follow the same cycle? ie can you get EWCM and not OV?

    Morning everyone

Polkadot, I agree with everyone else, she's being silly and by the sounds of it just trying to make herself sound clever! I had friends like that, but since I left the North East just over 2 years ago they haven't been in touch!

Twinklie I need to thank you, I sat and watched the first three episodes of Band Of Brothers last night.....oh my god it was like Spot The Celeb....I kept saying to OH thats him out of such and such and you know him from this show lol! It's a fab programme though, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not.

This morning I am a little meh. Next door neighbour was playing slam the door and scream at everyone at god only knows what hour last night.

I've just found out over Facebook that my cousin has set the date to get married next year so I am a bit peeved about that. It's just the fact that it seemed all her facebook friends found out about it before I did, a text message would have been nice!

    *rant over*

I've got a light bunny on MMC today and it says I am due to OV on the 18th which is a little later than I thought, but that would explain why my OPK was light again yesterday. I had EWCM last night though so I can't be that far away :T It also says my AF date is 1st September so I think I will be first on the list for the September testing :T

nunnygirl SEE I told you it was good. Did have me crying at a few points though and I'm really not a crier...you have been warned (think it affected me more because of the true nature of it all).

polka I have lots of different groups of friends from every activity/job I've been involved in. I do NOT stay in contact with people that are negative, nasty or incredibly self absorbed (well there is one...but we've been friends since we were 11 and she's coming out of it now). I agree the best way to meet people is a shared interest....so a class sounds like a good way of doing it.

AF is slowing down now but I still have no toilet...this has been the worse cycle EVER! :(

Phew, finally caught up on twenty something pages, it's taken me all week!

Huge hugs to those that need them, Scotswoman, Catwoman and CAFCGirl immediately spring to mind, but I'm sure there are others that need them.

Congrats to the BFPs - fingers crossed that they're nice and sticky.

Polkadot, I can't believe how rude your 'friend' was, if you're ever in Oxford, feel free to look me up! I agree with everyone elses suggestions of finding classes/groups to take part in - was it you that mentioned an interest in knitting - I'm sure there will be lots of knitting groups in London that you could get involved with!

Well, the updates on me are that I'm now and old married woman (married on 1 August) and I'm 8+5 weeks preggers. I've had two lots of 'scares' I had an early scan at 7+1 and it showed everything was where it should be and was pulsing away nicely - there is one in there - twins run in my family, so I was wondering if there'd be two! I've had some more spotting yesterday and today, so I've got to arrange another scan to make sure all is still well - fingers crossed. Assuming all is well, my due take is 23 March - so nearly bump buddies with Nikabella!
