Congrats to Natalie and thanks for the update.
Looking forward to hearing from the others today!
Visited a forum last night, which i have been using for about 3 years, it's to do with mobile phone software and has always been my favourite place for my games and stuff.
Ended up spending 2 hours getting rid of nasty trojan viruses as the site seems to be getting funded by malicious pop up ads now!!Think i'm all clear now though, but it does make me wish i could be bothered to back up all my pics and stuff off the laptop!

4 months off with full pay and includes your holiday ? are you sure thats right ??
You are entitlrd to SMP for 39weeks , and even your boss will claim this back through your national insurance contributions , it just seems not alot of time off with your new baby,
please look into this as some small companies try and take advantage of people its the law ,
please read this http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_10029290
I may be wrong and there may be different circumstances to why you are only having 16 weeks off , but it just feels wrong.
I am getting 49 weeks 90% pay off plus 30 days holiday , and maybe another 2 months unpaid . byt i am grabbing everything i can so i can be with my new baby as long as i acn before i retur to work.
Thanks for the concern nikkit. I can assure you i am not being taken advantage of. No, this is what i have negotiated. There is no way we can afford to live on SMP, not with the huge mortgage we have. I would have been quite happy with 3 months. - As this is what i had off when i had DS even after a c section (with a different emloyer), but my current employer is also allowing the holidays to be tagged on to the end.
Four months makes me sound like i have a high powered job doesn't it. Not at all, just huge mortgage and bills.[/QUOTE]
I am leaving work on the 16th Oct 09 and returning on the 1st Feb 10, and dont feel its too short to take off, everyone has different lifestyles, bills etc. I only get the SMP through work 90% 6wks and then the SSP.. but thankfully work are paying me any owed holiday, but regardless I still would have returned back to work earlier.Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j

can anyone tell me if its ok to take paracetamol while pregnant? Just found out I am pregnant, possible 4 - 8 weeks along, have the midwife next week. I have bad backache, which i get anyway, I usually use a tens maachine to ease it, but just wondered if it ok to take aracetamol?Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis) since 1996 (quite possibly Crohn's Disease).0

Jolene - paracetamol is widely acknowledged as the 1 pain medicine that's okay to take in pregnancy (so don't take aspirin or ibuprofen unless advised to by a doctor). Could you try starting off with a small dose and then if that's not enough, increase it later? If you're uncertain, you can always phone your GP or NHS Direct.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Hi Jolene. Would presume dosage as per package. But just to warn you, we are not supposed to give medical advise. Even down to little things like paracetamol, we get our wrists slapped. But paracetamol is acceptable during pregnancy. And about the only thing that is, that isn't prescribed by a doctor.
Noticed from your signature you have colitis, my OH has this, just been through a very bad four months with an attack. Do you cope ok with it?
Oh and Congratulations to Natalie and Amelie.0 -
Thanks, I tried ringing NHS Direct, over an ago, they still haven't gotten back to me!Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis) since 1996 (quite possibly Crohn's Disease).0
