Fitzio, i have told work i will finish on Friday 11th Sept. But that, then depends on consultant appointment on 18th Aug. If i finally make the decision to go for the elective section, i should get an actual date for it and then my finish date may change.

Am working as long as i can, so i can have longer off after. I work for a very small company, who are giving me 4 months off with full pay. This includes all the holidays i have not taken this year, which is all my entitlement bar one day. So will be back in work middle of January2010. And its also a month longer than i had off when i had DS.

    Working mummy ??

4 months off with full pay and includes your holiday ? are you sure thats right ??
You are entitled to SMP for 39weeks , and even your boss will claim this back through your national insurance contributions , it just seems not a lot of time off with your new baby,
please look into this as some small companies try and take advantage of people its the law ,
    please read this http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies/Pregnancyandmaternityrights/DG_10029290
I may be wrong and there may be different circumstances to why you are only having 16 weeks off , but it just feels wrong.

I am getting 49 weeks 90% pay off plus 30 days holiday , and maybe another 2 months unpaid . but i am grabbing everything i can so i can be with my new baby as long as i can before i return to work.
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Morning. Good vibes for Tia & her section! Also hope we hear from some of the other ladies soon...hope they & their babes are okay! Suzy...hang in there, hon; sounds like you've got it tough right now but hopefully things will get better.

Cat is driving me mad with her nighttime antics. Have only a previous few months left of restfully sleeping and I really don't need her cutting that short!! DH dotes on cat like a child, which is insanely frustrating as I generally don't like her & she drives me up the wall.

But we're going to go on a tour at the hospital today (finally!) so I'm excited :D.

    eta: congrats Natalie!!!!!!!

Thanks for the concern nikkit. I can assure you i am not being taken advantage of. No, this is what i have negotiated. There is no way we can afford to live on SMP, not with the huge mortgage we have. I would have been quite happy with 3 months. - As this is what i had off when i had DS even after a c section (with a different emloyer), but my current employer is also allowing the holidays to be tagged on to the end.

Four months makes me sound like i have a high powered job doesn't it. Not at all, just huge mortgage and bills.

Harley - I've been getting that hot pain at the top of my bump for quite a while now, usually at night when I move in bed. It's really painful and it wakes me up. I mentioned it to my obstetrician a few weeks ago and he wasn't concerned by it, though he didn't really know what it was, other than maybe the uterus growing a bit fast and suddenly and feeling a bit beleagured.

SuzyWuzy - I agree you should see your GP, and also log the incident with the police. Does this guy have mental health problems do you think? If he does, and is getting help from a CPN or other professional, the police might have a word with them on your behalf to see whether they can get him to back off. If he's just a common or garden nasty, then as others have said its another incident in the course of conduct you need to show harrassment. I am fairly sure (though its been a while since I had to look at this professionally) that if the incidents are serious enough, you can jump straight to getting an injunction with power of arrest against him, so might be worth speaking to a solicitor if the police aren't as helpful as they might be. Being able to do something makes it all less stressful somehow.
