Nikabella - we had 4 mc's between DS2 and this pregnancy. We discussed it (as they offered an early scan) and decided that we wanted to wait until the 12wk scan, so that we weren't stressing over every little nuance of the early scan. I think it was the right decision for us. I will say, however, that we DID use the home doppler to hear the heartbeat (heard it around 9-10wks), as we had one already at home from when we were pregnant with DS2. Obviously, it's a decision that is between you both and the midwife, but keep in mind if you go TOO early for a scan, you run the risk of going just before the heartbeat starts, which of course will stress you out unbelievably while you wait. (that's one of the main reasons we waited until 12wk scan - to avoid that issue)

Thanks Tara, and thanks from mum and dad too.

Did you post pics of Maddy? can't remember who I have seen now but they are all gorgeous and I can't wait to have mine. Madison is fairly close to the top of my list too, I think it is a beautiful name.

Soooooooooooooooooo hot here. Tomorrow I'm brewing my RLT and keeping it in the fridge, drinking hot tea is just making it worse.

Goodnight everyone - labour vibes to everyone ahead of me, comfortable painless healthy vibes to everyone in the middle of the list and sticky vibes to everyone at the bottom.

Girls shortlist - Amber, Emma, Holly, Matilda and Olivia.
Boys shortlist - Lucas, Felix, Joe, Ben and Oscar.

It will no doubt change again soon though!

P.S. I have only ever heard Niamh pronounced as Neev. How else would it be pronounced Tia/Jillie?

I like Emma (but DH doesn't) and we both like Holly but know a Hollie! (and we don't like her mum and dad). Boys, well, we have a Michael and a Christopher and never talked about boys names for this one, just knew it was a girl.

As for Niamh, I'd spell it Neive as I know a 'Niomi' and a 'Nimway' both spelled Niamh!!!

Neive was one of my faves, but DH aint keen, but he was keen on Eve. Bloody men.

EA, hope your mum makes a quick recovery!

DH got us chips from the chipshop for dinner and then I went for a long bath. I get pains if I move too quick (pains as in braxton hicks or contractions and ligament pians). If I'm sitting or standing the pain in in my right side and back, lying down it's all in my bump, no idea whats better. I get them at random and a sudden painful need to pee which then means I'm stopped half way up the stairs bent over. But still, better off at home. Thirsty as hell too.

Showed MIL all my little girls pretty dresses today too! :D

I've never known Niamh to be pronounced any other way but 'Neev'. I like the name Niamhanna for a girl but my hubby rejected that one saying it was too Nirvana! (we know we're having a boy now anyway)

My eldest daughter has a very unique name - She's named Syanne (pronouned Sigh-anne) I was going to spell it like 'Sian' but was told that most people would think that it was 'Sharn'.

I must have something for names ending in a N sound... following a pattern we have Syanne, Caitlin, Kane and soon Leon!

Hope you are all okay...I don't visit this thread often but when i do it seems to be really quiet :O I'm just having a raspberry leaf tea LOL
If google doesn't know it, how should i?

Just to add to the drama...

Lay down on the sofa with DH before going to bed and when I got up to go to bed I had a watteryness down there. Thought hmmm... So cleaned up, peed went to bed. Just got up after 30mins for yet another pee and I was dry till I sat up, then more watteryness (and yuck cos I smelled it and tasted it, it's sweet so not pee and deffinatley coming from the other place). So now I have a pad on. Planning on lying down again and seeing if there is anymore. But it is literally a trickle. It can't be bath water can it? Argh!! This is frustrating!
