Back from Boots! Got 2 packs of thick maternity pads (Boots own brand) as I think this is what everyone on here recommends. Also bought some nappies.
Need to go to Morrisons tomorrow to check out the offers. Did notice that Boots had the TT Manual Breast Pump for half price although they had none left on the shelf.
Nipped into Next as well and they had hundreds of baby clothes in the sale, but nothing neutral so didn't buy anything.

Pookie - nice to hear from you. Someone was asking about you earlier. If you are still feeling ill next week, don't rush back. You might make yourself worse. I don't think anyone would think badly of you if you were off for more than 1 week with flu whilst pregnant.

    Welcome and congrats Nozza!

Pookie - I know this makes me sound like a horrible worrier, but if you have any itching of palms of hands and soles of feet, please make sure you speak to your midwife or consultant immediately to have the blood tests that will rule out obstetric cholestasis! It is important that something like that not be overlooked, as they would then induce you early, as there is a risk to baby still being in utero after 37wks. It's just two simple blood tests, that they can draw at the same time - but better to be safe. Sorry again to be such a worrier, but they thought I had it earlier in this pregnancy and they were VERY much insistent that it needed to be checked immediately.

  • Hi everyone!!

Been away for a while with a thousand other crisises (sp?) i won't bore you with but here I am back!! I will try to catch up this evening but there is so much as I have been gone a couple of weeks!

Can't believe I am 36 weeks now and they are considering inducing me when I see them at 37+5. I could have as little as 2 weeks to go arrrrggghhh how did that happen!!

Oh and I see above someone has itching? Please tell them as I have obstetric cholestasis. It's not as bad as all that these days, I am on a cocktail of drugs to keep the bile salts from harming the baby and causing things like stillbirth but I urge you to get the blood tests. The sooner you get on the drugs the better it is. My itching started on my feet.

Hiya Shelvis! Glad to see you back!

I'm getting induced/sectioned in 2 weeks time too, although I can't wait cos I've had enough.
