If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
NoahsMum Don't feel bad that you aren't doing gourmet meals from scratch each day. What matters is that you'll be spending time with, and keeping amused, your son. Your time is better spent doing this in the holidays rather than spending time cooking while he is getting stressed. Enjoy your time together and the holidays
FairyElephant Good luck vibes for you for tomorrow. Do let us know how you get on xx
LameWolf How fab :T You'll provide a lovely home from home for doggies that need it. I don't know who'll enjoy it most - you or them0 -
The lady from the dog-sitting franchise visited us last night, and we've been accepted as a host family! I'm so excited! :j:j:jCan't wait to have my first canine guest. Obviously I don't know when or how often I'll be called on, ad I certainly won't make a fortune doing it, but it's not for the money really, it's because I love dogs and can offer good holiday accommodation to dogs who would not be happy going into kennels.
Sorry, I'm getting a bit carried away I guess, but as I can't go out to work I've spent the last decade feeling kinda useless. I've said I'll only take quiet-natured dogs who can walk beside a mobility scooter, but feel that this would be an ideal place for older dogs who like a quiet life and a snooze whenever they want.
Phew! *climbs down off ceiling* I hope I can achieve a bit more than I did yesterday - couldn't settle to anything as I was fretting about the Visit.
That said, I have absolutely NO IDEA what to do for dins tonight. Might end up having egg'n'chips at this rate! :rotfl:
A VERY BIG WELLDONE:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
I HOPE THAT YOU ENJOY LOOKING AFTER THE DOGS:T:T:T:T:T
GOOD LUCK:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Good afternoon everyone.
I think the work on the flats has caught up with me. Well that and not nearly as much sleep as I need. I've made today a "me" day.
So far today, I've taken a 2 hour nap, hung a load of washing to dry and played with bree doggy in the garden for a bit. Not very OS for sure. Though I suppose hanging the clothes to dry may count for something. :rotfl:
What started as a little project in the one flat has turned out to be a major one. The end is now in sight and I'll be glad when it is finished. I love doing things like this yet it's really taken it out of me. We had several viewings of both flats yesterday so hoping to get them leased soon. At least landlord is quite pleased with all that's been accomplished so far.
Our daughters came for tea last night with the 3 doggies. We had a nice time visiting and such. Yet once again, we were much too late getting to bed. DH is also shattered today. I'm going to do my best to get things done around here and get to bed early tonight.
I'm heading out in a bit to get some groceries in. My cupboards look very bare, as does the freezer. DH is meeting me after he gets off work to help me bring the groceries home, bless him. I've never minded taking the trolley and walking to get groceries, however we live about a 20 min walk from the store now. In our old place, it was a 5 min walk.
Veggie omelets and chips for tea tonight as the menu plan changed yesterday when the girls called to say they'd be able to make it for tea. I'm glad tho, cos it's easy, quick and good. Just what I need tonight.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs for anyone who'd like one.

Afternoon all
Well after 3 trips to the dump with the Landrover full to the gills each time, we can see to the end of our garage now :j:T:rotfl: The rubbish we accummulated is an eye opener I can tell you. Today went shoping for some sandals at Bluewater. Came back with some and also a tiny fryer from Lakeland. I love home fried chips, never really liked the oven ones but couldn't be doing with all the mess and trouble fryers cause. This one is teflon coated so thats a boon in itself. I said that the portions will be smaller as I will only cook as much as the fryer will hold in one session but we will all feel virtuous by having less on our plates fried food wise
Fairyelephant - lots and lots of luck for your scan tomorrow - will be thinking of you
Noahsmum - What Sunnygirl said:D
Lamewolf - Really chuffed for you - I bet you can't wait for your first visitor now
Right off to cook meatballs (a la Ikea) and spaghetti for tea
Hugs to all xxxx0 -
Hi all, sorry not been posting, but have read most days, just been feeling fed up as Ds1 and his fiancee decided to call it a day last week. They have been together nearly 10 years so we have got very fond of her.Things havent been right since he lost his job back in Jan,and still hadnt managed to get another.I know these things happen, but perhaps they are just too different, she is very ambitious and he's rather more laid back, though he does work hard.He also got told he'd not got another of the jobs he'd applied for,so its all a bit doom and gloom here.
We also had more viewers for the house this morning,so spent yesterday cleaning to make it spick and span-they only got as far as the kitchen and conservatory and said the garden was too small for them! The man said he didnt want to waste our time by not being honest, which DH appreciated as we feel like the last lot were just sightseeing  Hey ho... at least we're straight for the weekend, when my brothers and families are coming over.
Just been for a nice walk with DH,it was quite sunny while we were out.We are having turkey and gravy etc, from one I prepared earlierand froze,so thats easy.
Halight & Bitsy- enjoyed seeing pics of the girls, they are all lovely.
Sunnygirl- I love Pineau,we had it when DH did a job in France a few years back, and because he was in the van we were able to bring plenty back.
FE- everythings crossed for the scan.xx
PP-hope you allhave a good hol.
NPM- I agree with the others,no use you being stressed, its better to spend your time with DS.
Hugs to anyone I missed who needs one.x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon - back again :j
Calzone dough is currently in the BM, and I have a batch of cookies baking in the oven (inspired by another thread on here today) also DD suddenly decided she wanted to take some pressies for the teachers at school tomorrow - and I'm bu****ed if I'm spending any money at this short notice (and since when did it all become such a trend - I know I sound like a miserable moo, but honestly!!). Anyway my brainwave was to make some cookies for her to take in - so everyone's happy
Ironing will have to be done later tonight
Have a good evening everyone (((((hugs)))))Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Fairyelephant - 18 years ago when I was pregnant with DS, I was really low on iron. I hate brassicas, but love liver (always have since a child) so I was told to eat liver. I ate LOADS! The year after "They" said pregnant women shouldn't eat liver, as there is too much vitamin A in it!
My Mum laughed about it! DS was fine, although he hates liver, (wonder why?!)I Believe in saving money!!!:T
