The employer is a rather large company, one which I believe the taxpayer recently took a 70% stake in !

Well I have just spent the evening filling out forms to ask the Court to try again with an Attachment of Earnings - and to not get fobbed off this time, I have evidence that she is still employed by the same people, for example: she was seen driving the same company car last month etc etc

If that doesn't work I have compiled a large file of personal information on her, which I will hand over to a professional to track her down and extract the funds - I think it would be worth it since there is more than £2,000 to recover.

The craft bint probably works in the HR department. Please, PLEASE keep us posted on how you get on. She deserves to be skinned alive for what she's done. The nerve!

I have her NI number, PAYE Tax Ref, car registration, bank account numbers, date of birth, former (still current perhaps) work address and phone number, payroll number, mobile phone number (may now be out of date), the letter she wrote along with the £1,500 cheque which bounced and another cheque for £825 which I didn't even try to cash. But no address

Tenants who leave owing money for rent and damage are unlikely to give you their forwarding address. ... Tenants won't tell you but will notify their Mobile Phone Supplier, Bank, Credit Card company and other suppliers where they have moved to - It is likely the tenants will require new Utility services such as Gas, Water Electric - we are now licensed to access this data and tell you where they now live.

I don't agree with Lodger's suggestion of forwarding information to the company directors. I like the sound of the bankruptcy - many companies, particularly finance ones, undertake checks on their prospective employees so it could disrupt her career.

However, she sounds like a 'professional' tenant who is going to be quite smart at evading the tracing and wriggling out of the consequences. Perhaps your tracing agents will be able to provide you with her earlier addresses and you could track down the landlords of them, including the current one where she is probably bouncing cheques, to see if they've also been stung and fancy joining you in the legal action?

Just a thought but if she is employed in the Finance Industry, she could find herself in a very sticky situation regarding bounced cheques and an unsatisfied CCJ. She certainly wont hold a FSA licence and any bank employing her would take a very dim view of the cheque thing and the CCJ.

Well I've worked in the IT departments of finance organisations and have had to consent to having my credit record checked, perhaps some places have blanket policies for all staff. However, perhaps your Pro Tenant isn't too fussed as perhaps they don't retrospectively check existing staff - seems like she's not in a hurry to switch employers (though if you bankrupt her, you could always inform them)

    Rats

The court has just responded, saying that if the employer denies knowing her then they cannot enforce judgement. That seems very unfair to take their word for it over mine, the employer is either mistaken or lying, since I was able to provide her employee number and telephone extension etc.

So, they say, it is down to me to track her down and provide the court with "the information" - although I am not sure now what "the information" is. Maybe a home address would be a start. My solicitors gave me the details of a company who can track people down for a modest fee, £50 ish, which I am now trying - hopefully they will also take on the case and get the money off her.
  • good luck, I hope you get her to pay but please realise when to stop and let it go if its getting to much

Just a different angle on this, If you have in your possession the bounced cheque off this person, would it be illegal to sell photocopies of the bounced cheque on ebay??????????????? if it's not I am sure she would not be very happy, and possibly get in touch with you.
ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.
