As the other poster said, it won't do you much good to record a bunch of movies on your Sky+ if you're not a movie subscriber because they'll only be available to watch that weekend. However, if you have a DVD recorder, record them on that and watch them anytime. I imagine this would also work if you have some other digital recorder besides the Sky box.
Keep in mind, if you're not recording on a Sky+ box, you need to actually input your PIN code with your Sky remote for any movie rated 12 and over if it's airing before 8pm. With the Sky+ box, it will record the movie and let you input the pin whenever you watch it. But with a DVD recorder, you'll just record two hours of a screen asking you to input a pin code and no way to input it after the fact if you don't do it at the start of recording.0 -
how do i know what my PIN is? never had movies and don't have a clue0

Sorry, I don't recall how I got one (I do know I got to select the code myself). Maybe it won't be necessary for the free weekend? I'd be surprised if that were the case, though, as I called Sky trying to get the requirement for the stupid pin OFF my account because there are no children in the house and I record with a dvd player, but they couldn't do it. Going into the menus on the Sky remote and shutting off the pin didn't shut it off for movies, either.
You could always wait until the free weekend and call Sky then if you're watching 12+ movies before 8pm, or if they'll be closed then, you could call now and ask about it. Unless someone else knows the answer?
Ohh, and this isn't a special pin just for Sky movies, so if you've got one for anything else on the box, that's probably it.0 -

Unless you have changed it..... or sky have
But looking deeper into things it appears its the last 4 digits on your ORIGINAL Sky viewing card, so if you have changed cards since you joined you may have a different number  if it wont work you need to ring sky to get your PIN reset0 -

Yep, it is the last 4 digits of your first Sky Viewing Card. I have yet to check ours to see if it is the same on the new one, but we don't use our PIN anyway.
If you pay by Direct Debit/Auto Card Payment, then you can use the Red Button to "get a reminder". It will help if you ever need the pin when the phones are out of hours.

As I now understand it, this deal is only for Sky subscribers who do not currently subscribe to Sky movies. It is not available to non-Sky subscribers. In other words, despite having the same name as the previous 'Free Weekend Pass', it is a much more narrowly focused deal. That's what the official deal seems to state.0

I recorded I Am Legend and only watched it last week - it stayed on my sky+.
Not sure if i recorded it from Sky 3 tho and thats why it stayed on - was from the free pass weekend
hope this helps0 -
As a Sky customer of many years, I'd like to know why I'm hearing about it here and not from Sky.
Perhaps because the magazines go straight in the bin!?I started with nothing and have most of it left.0 -

They have been advertising it, on the Sky channels, in between the programmes.;)0
