OMG! I have a voicemail from the solicitors selling the dream house:eek:. New mobile has been dead all weekend because I forgot to pack the charger (yes I really am that stupid ). I assume its a "get out of town you unrealistic old bat" message, but what if its not?!

The suspense is going to kill me until my lunch hour tomorrow:o.

Jesus - just realised the time:eek:. Only landed at 2030, and had the bus journey from hell so switched on the laptop and must have got carried away.

Up at 0600, so best get to bed. Night all!:T

Hey! Just been catching up with your escapades! Great letters as always, I have Barclalcard on my back too. They seem to be working their way through DCA's with me, can't think why they don't want to play with me  :rotfl: :p

Now I have "Calder Financial" threatening a doorstep visit next Tuesday, hmm I may have plans ALL DAY! :rotfl:If BC had actually responded to any of my 9 letters, or even Mercers, I'm sure we could have saved the hassle!

We're in suspense here too about the Solicitors message!! Not sure whether to wish you good luck for a "yes" or a "no" but good luck all the same :D

Well! I had a further 2 missed calls from the Solicitor today, tried to return these at lunchtime but their Property Manager was on her lunch:mad:. So I explained that I didn't finish until 2015 tonight, but that I would finish at 1515 tomorrow, so she is going to call me then. God I don't know whether to hope for good news or bad:confused:! Hubby was speaking to his friend who knows the couple selling, and apparently the house has been on the market for 6 months. Who knows - maybe its not a "get out of town" message eek!

Listed quite a few items on Ebay on Sunday for free listing day:D. Just got my off duty for over Christmas and New Year, so off to BA and BMI websites to price my flights. Good news is that I have lots of night shifts which are time and a third which should be good in my January pay:j!

Hubby was a bit grumpy on the phone tonight - he can't find his ATM card and feels he will struggle to survive a week on £55. The car is full of diesel and the freezer is full. How the hell is he going to struggle:mad:?!!! Hope he feels guilty as hell when he realises he was nasty to me:cool:.

Had something else in mind to post, but my mind has gone blank so I'm off to price my flights!

Remembered what I had forgotten to post last night - no big news - just that yesterday was a NSD:j.

Going for the same again - not taking my purse to work which helps!

Priced my flights last night - most are horrendously expensive and the train is not much cheaper. Guess it will need to be the bus:confused:

Spending the day in main theatre which means my legs will be killing me by 3.15pm. Hopefully the solicitors will call me after 3.30pm as per the message I left yesterday:o

Can I ask - as hoping to study midwifery in a couple of years - what's the shift pattern like? How much leeway do you get if, say, you wanted to commit to just night shifts, for example?

My mum was a nurse and she only did nights, three on then four off usually, or sometimes it fell that she'd do two lots of three nights together (ie six in a row!)

My OH wants to eventually go into a job with shifts so working out the practicalities you see :) I was having a bit of a moment a little while ago wondering if it was do-able but my sis who works in the NHS was regaling me about their family-friendly policies but wondered how it works in practice - she doesn't have kids you see.

    Hi Jo,

The shift pattern and requesting specific days or shifts is really dependant on the unit you end up working in. Whilst you study its unlikely you would be able to specify. However, for instance the unit I work in is really desperate to recruit staff and therefore they are more likely to accommodate preferences.

To be fair, I requested to have my shifts together and they are working with me to achieve this - however as I said they are really desperate to recruit!

    Good luck :)
