Thanks all, we just managed to watch the programme today as it took me a while to figure out how to hide my IP address so I could watch the iplayer!
Have to say I'm pretty pleased with the programme, hope it didn't spoil it for you as you all knew how it ended!!!!
All joking aside, sorry I haven't been around much. Can't say i'm indoors much at all to catch up with the forum. We remain debt free, living very happily and saving a nice little stash in the bank each week. After tax we take home just over $10k each month, our rent is a total of $1880 and we don't have many other outgoings. We drive a brand new car which is a pretax deduction from my salary to avoid paying 45% tax, and I still manage to bank $3k per fortnight. Life is very very good, and we are saving for a deposit for a new house when my permanent residency comes through.
I haven't forgotten (and never will!) the long hard struggle and all the obstacles we had to overcome to get us here, and without the support from each of you, I don't know if I'd be here now.
So, stay focussed and dream a little dream. Eventually one day, they do come true. You will fall down, come off the wagon @rse first a few times, but eventually there is a glimmer of light you see in the distance. It's possible, not impossible. It's hard, not easy, and requires lots of determination. Let's face it, spending is easy - paying off debt is hell. I will forever remember my lessons learned, and whilst I'm not quite Ebeneezer, I'm reasonably frugal and think twice before spending cash on needless things.

Hi
Glad you managed to see it, it must seem strange to you now you are properly settled. Are you still in the rented house you went to originally? I hope Cole is happy, it is a big move for a little boy. Have you had your first visitors yet? I am sure you are going to get lots in the coming years. Good luck with it all, you seem to be doing really well.Sell £1500

I know it's been a difficult journey but you have made the right decision. I had the chance in the seventies to go to Australia when I finished my nurse training. Wish I had taken it lol!! Suz:eek0 -
