It may take a week for them to get internet, even without them starting work, and trying to settle in etc, and live with jetlag.
so don't worry about them yet lol
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

G'day
Well getting broadband sorted might have been top of my list, but you need ID to fart in Australia. So the entire week has been taken up with getting bank cards, passport visa stamps, my registration, Aussie driving licences etc - and now finally broadband!:D
I can't believe how many of you have posted!!!! It's tough being popular.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Life down under is fantastic and its a beautiful country. I'm a bit of a bear with a sore head at work though - hate feeling lost.:( Clinically you will all be glad to hear they still come out the same way - so with that side of the job it's fine. However, the paperwork and the protocols etc are all screwed up and I'm just getting frustrated because no-one has actually sat down with me and told me what I need to do:mad::mad:. Anyway, have actually met a nice lady from Yorkshire who just started 8 weeks before me and has sussed it out. She is going to sort out my moans and groans on Monday. I have this weekend and the next two off:j:j:j. Great to have some family time, but as you all know I'm greedy and I want the weekend shift allowance.
I would love to say we have fantastic plans for this weekend, but in reality we are skimming through Gumtree looking for 2 cheap cars and some furniture to stockpile for the next move. Poor Cole - not the weekend he had planned I'm guessing. Never mind, later this afternoon we will pack up the esky (cool box to us), and head to the beach for a little while to appease said child.:p
The country is beautiful, unfortunately not much in walking distance so its driving everywhere. The vino ranges from cheap but fairly nice to expensive and fairly rank. Found a nice couple of bottles in the $4-6 range. Plus there is 10% off if I buy 6......................:eek:
Have to use some time this weekend, to make a list of the important stuff I still need to sort out. Trying to figure out internet banking Aussie style. Hubby has just popped out to the bank to withdraw cash so we can go car shopping. It's pretty easy to spend money out here, most things are expensive. We don't do takeaway or eating out because its extremely expensive. You are talking $30 for the 3 of us to even go to McDonalds!!:eek::eek:
Anyway, I'm just out of bed (its 9.45 here on a Saturday morning) - hair looks like someone has plugged me in, so off to throw myself in the shower.
Back with a proper update tomorrow when hopefully we have acquired some wheels as the hire car goes back next weekend!!LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Hi long time lurcer here, just wanted to wish you and your family the very best for your new life in Australia, we moved here three and a half years ago. Still use MSE as there is not really anything quite like it here!!
Hope car hunting goes well, like McDonald's, they are quite expensive too!
Enjoy the beach!
Cheers
