That sounds mighty impressive. How do Aussie dollars equate to pounds sterling?

    Conversion Results
    68,976.00 AUD = 46,950.86 GBP
    Exchange rate: 0.680684
    Rate valid as of: 17/2/2012

    Blimey, well done you!

I am hoping that you will be better paid over there than you are over here. You may need it if your hubby can't get work straight away.

did you work out a budget based on the $60k salary? If so then would it be smart to squirrel away the 8k difference, so you won't notice it?
Well done on getting the job offer in your hands. I bet it feels so much more real now!

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Filming at home next Thursday :D. Bring it on BBC! A trip to Australia, now that's what I pay my licence fee for ;).

Had the loveliest day - slept til 17.30, woke up had a cottage pie from M&S, couple of glasses of wine and listened to my iphone go kerching, kerching, kerching as some of my ebay listings ended. Could only have been made better had I been on my own sofa at home ;).

Have started doing some surveys- but only managed to complete 2 before being screened out :(

Can't wait to hear of your filming escapades!

Back on good old Scottish soil :D.

Went completely against the grain today and feel like I spent a fortune!!!!! Bought a carpet for the attic (yes its finished!!! and just in time for the BBC), underlay, gripper, carpet fitter, ikea furniture etc. Just need to gut the house from top to bottom when the painter leaves!!

    No pressure!!!!!!

Still making excellent progress I see Julie! and a trip to Oz on the bbc, perfect - now thats what I call money saving!

Hope the filming at the house goes well, do you have a date for the trip yet (i've not read all your posts).

Whats the latest plan for an actual emigration now?

And finally - you will let us know when you are due to be on the TV won't you (even if its not for months)!

I wonder will the house being on TV help with the sale/get you a better price?
